  1. Welcome, Welcome you sound ready for the start of your journey.
  2. You sound like you are ready for this journey. Like the other ladies said, this is a hard addiction to beat but with the surgery you can do it. Take things one day at a time and stick to your pre-op and post-diet you will be surprised and happy with your decision to finally beat it. Good luck to you.
  3. I've always been fond of NIKE sports bras. They give nice support without constricting you too much. They have good prices at the nike factory outlets too. I too am a size 36D and I wear a size large.
  4. Firming lotions don't work to prevent sagging skin, the important factor is to lift weights to tone up your muscles. Many of us lift weights or have some type of body toneing regimen before and most important after wt loss. You are young and at 280, your body will have time to adjust. It also depends on your body type because everyone is different. I was 250 to start and down to 190 and I don't have too much saggy skin. I have a little sagginess between my thighs but I don't care about it because I am more happy that the fat under my skin is gone. Good luck to you.
  5. It's so gooooood and I am addicted to it, when my sleeve acts up this is my savior/go to meal. The good thing is it's packed with protien from all the beans and chicken/turkey. Enjoy, and tell me how it turned out.
  6. Hey friends, I know how some of us love Wendy's chili so I want to share a good copy car recipe with you. I got the recipe from food.com and slightly modified it Ingredients - 1 onions, chopped 1 bell peppers, chopped 1 (14 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes (I like the italian style) 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce 1 (14 ounce) cans ranch style Beans 1 (14 ounce) cans pinto beans 1 (14oz) black beans 1 (14 ounce) cans kidney beans 1 (10 ounce) cans Rotel diced tomatoes 1 (1 1/4 ounce) packages McCormick mild chili seasoning-Since I'm gluten free, I used 1 tsp chili powder and 2 tsp cumen. Black pepper and salt (around 1/2 tsp each) 2 lbs ground beef (I used ground turkey and italian chicken sausage) Directions Brown the Ground beef or ground turkey/chicken. Add onions and green pepper, (drain to remove excess oil) Add all canned items, including juice, into large pot. Cook until the onion, green pepper and beans are tender not too mushy. Serve. and enjoy Freezes nicely! ****For Breakfast I scramble an egg and put my chili on top. For extra protien I also add cheese.

  8. Hello friends, I am currently taking B-12 sublingual 1,000 mcgs daily, I would like to switch to the 2,500 mcg per dose. Should I take one 2,500 vit two or three times per week or continue to take 2,500 daily. My lab results were good at 906 last week and the levels should be bet (211-946). I am thinking twice a week but wanted to hear your thoughts. Thanks for your input.
  9. I'm making some right now, totally addicted to it. I also put it over a scrambled egg for extra protien for breakfast, YUMMY.....
  10. Yes it is. I also have a "copy cat" recipe which makes it extra healthy because I make it with ground turkey/chicken and black beans.
  11. Again, good luck but I think you will be compromise and use the MTF side of medicine and I hope you have a good experience.
  12. I think you need to research your decision a little further.
  13. Gingersnap, Can I ask why are you are afraid of the military side of medicine? After 25 years in the military I find that doctors/health care providers are very professional and caring. They don't want to lose patients or give shoddy/sloppy care because we are military or military family members. They are just as professional as civilian care providers in state of the art facilities. My surgery was done here at JBLM and my surgeon was a COL Rush, he did 100's of GS surgeries and has never lost a patient. Tricare will provide the procedure if you are close to an MTF, if you are hesitant of military medicine then I recommend self paying. Many GS patients have went to Mexico to get the procedure done. Good Luck on your journey.
  14. It's time for assertiveness training. Time to put your needs first, tell him what you plan to do and stick with it. You are working making money and if you choose to take a class so be it. He will get over it, if not move on. Good luck with counseling but hubby needs to know that you are serious.
  15. 6 days a week and sometimes twice a day for an average of 90 minutes, but I've been in the military my entire adult life. You are doing great, we should strive to workout most days of the week. I agree with Lilmissdiva on hydration and starting off slow.
  16. Yes, looking sexy has nothing to with the underlying factors of being overweight. Obesity is kiilling us and our children, I decided to get the surgery at 248 the heaviest in my life because I needed to do something. Now I am 198 lbs size 7/8 sexy as heck but almost 200lbs is still unhealthy so I will lose 30-40 more lbs. Good luck.
  17. Try USA jobs.com, VA or Boeing, they are hiring. For a lot of these you have to be willing to locate, don't know about management position with Gov jobs the goal is to get in the GS system first then promotions to management, etc. Good Luck.
  18. Well said Coop!!!!! We need to look at the glass as half full instead of half empty, as long as you are losing .2 onces, 1 lb per week whatever, then you are closer to your goal.
  19. You are a MENTOR to me and countless others. Please do not let a few "know it all's" ruin it for countless others who need your input, guidance and experience. I look at many new people joining and questioning the decision to get sleeved multiple times a day. Again, your experience and voice is needed and an asset to many folks.
  20. I still can't believe it either papa jack. I went to the outlet stores and tried on a size 10 jeans from the Gap. I tried on an Xlarge shirt and it was too big. I came out in shock and told my hubby I am a size 10, I need to slow down. I went from an 18/20 to size 10 in 2 months.
  21. I agree, he motivated me to buy a juicer and I have been juicing every day for the past three months.
  22. You will be Ok, trust in your Physician and you will be just fine.. Have faith say a prayer before you go under and when you open your eyes you will say, it wasn't that bad. Good luck and see you on the losers bench.
  23. Good job, keep it up. I am at 45 lbs down and my hubby loves the new me.
