I totally understand how you feel. I'm at my doctors goal weight that he set for me and I still feel like, in my head, that I weight 250. Although I know its extra skin there it still feels like fat.
  2. I drink 16 oz of coffee everyday with no problems. I use Splenda and 1% milk. No probs! Sometimes I use my vanilla protein powder as creamer. Sorry it doesn't agree with you.
  3. I havent lost much (interpret as NOTHING) in the past month. And I don't want to hear about losing inches. I need to lose fat.
  4. Thanks for the responses. I had only had mayb 36 ounces of fluid yesterday before working out so that might have been the problem. In retrospect, I shouldnt have done the C25K twice in the same day. I just felt so good and had some extra time. Next time I will just do some light weight training. @ Lissa I didn't consider the bouncing skin. You've given me a lot to reconsider before trying it again. Thanks!!
  5. i just completed day1 (did it twice in a row) of couch to 5k and am in pain. Not exhaustion pain. Pain in my stomach area and Slightly nauseated. I'm seven months out and have been walking a couple times a week prior to this incident. Has this ever happened to anyone else?
  6. I rub Vitamin E oil on it in the morning and evening. I also usually rub some Yes to Tomatos body butter on them during lunch. They are just slightly raised but I'm ok with it. The two small scars above the incision line are from the pain pump. Those are completely flat. Even if it doesnt help the scar my skin is extra soft.
  7. I hadn't considered that. I will take extra time tonight eating and see if it gets any better. Thanks!!!!
  8. For the last 7-10 days, everytime I eat a meal I get extremely sleepy afterwards. Last night I ate about 3 ounces of grilled chicken, cheese and salsa for dinner and fell asleep within 5 mins sitting straight up. For lunch yesterday, I ate 2 oz of chicken thigh and 2 brocolli florets and I fell asleep at my desk. It's pretty consistent now. Any ideas what might be happening? --Dazed and Sleepy
  9. Just wondering if anyone else finds texture in their food disgusting after all the weeks of liquids. I can not chew or swallow ground beef. I've tried Wendys chili and the ground beef just clumps together in my mouth. Even if I chew and chew it never dissipates. Same with spaghetti sauce with ground beef in it. Is this normal?
  10. Thanks! It was an uphill fight but the policy does not say physician supervised. That's just something they like to say when they want to deny you. They even called my pcp and tried to get her to say I hadn't been compliant with Weight watchers. Crazy!
  11. I have bcbs but it's trs TX. My medical policy reads the same about the documentation on non surgical weight management for 6 months. I was denied the first time with my Weight Watchers documentation but appealed it with medical review. I won. Weight watchers IS a nonsurigcal program of weight reduction. It took one day after medical review to be approved. My doctor was ready for surgery the next week.
  12. I ended up in pain for hours and was taking Gas X strips like they were candy. It eventually passed. I've never been so glad to just poot.
  13. I'm about 17 days out and I asked my doctor the same question on day 14. He said that it was not a problem. I was told that some peoples stomachs empty fluids faster than others and that I was not harming my sleeve in any way.
  14. Congrats! I didn't wait for my confirmation letter. I called the dr office as soon as I knew I was approved. They can call and get confirmation from BCBS.
  15. My kids bought be a diet slurpee which I greedily started sucking down with a straw. I am now in horrible, horrific pain. I'm assuming from gas. Dumb rookie mistake. Don't let it happen to you. death to diet slurpees!
  16. Oops! That should have read BENEPROTEIN powder is unflavored.
  17. Benefiber seems to be unflavored. They put it in my broths and crystal light while in the hospital. It didn't change the flavor at all.
  18. I got sleeved two days ago and they couldn't find my vein in Pre op. So they stopped trying. They rolled me into the operating room and gave me some gas. I was out of it in 10 seconds. Then they gave me an iv in top of my hand.
  19. T minus 8 hrs til my sleeving. Now more excited then nervous.
  20. I get sleeved on 8/25 and I Have a bad case of the nerves.
  21. Thank y'all so much for the ideas and encouragement. Today we had a womens luncheon at church and guess who had the pleasure of preparing all the food? Not cool at all! At first I was having a really hard time until I disconnected myself from the food and made it more of a task that just had to be completed. I did chew a piece of spinach quiche but I did spit it out. It was not a pretty picture. 4 days to a new me!
  22. I'm equally as nervous. I was approved 8/12 and will be getting sleeved next week. I'm not sleeping well and hating my Protein shakes. Ugh!! Do you have a date yet? Btw Dallas is by far the greatest city in Texas.
  23. I'm getting sleeved next week in Dallas (Castro) and I'm really kind of scared that I am going to miss eating large portions of food. Is this normal ? I ended my food funeral tonight and start with my liquid Pre op diet tomorrow. What do you do when you just want the sensation of chewing food?
  24. Hi, I have bcbs trs and started weight watchers 3/10/2011. I attended 6 months of ww. I saw my doctor 4 times, did the psych eval and saw a nutrionist once. I was approved at the beginning of august and will be having the gs next week. I was denied at first but I fought with them. Look at your trs medical policy. It does NOT have to be consecutive months. And weight watchers does count because it is a "commercial weight loss program". You will have to call yourself because the insurance coordinators at the doctors offices are only interested in coordinating the doctors money.
