Okay, everyone...I have waiting for this day for SOOOO long!!! I've watched everyone with their submittals, consequent approvals, scheduled date, etc, and now it's my turn!! Oh my gosh, is this for real?? Finally??? After researching WLS for 10 years, waiting through the 6 month pre-surg diet plan, etc, etc.

So all is a go, my surgeon is writing the letter of necessity today, to be sent with my packet to BCBSIL early next week. They are going to let me set a tentative surgery date contingent on approval, of course. Oh, man. The roller coaster ride is now starting, please fasten your belts, people! You're gonna be hearing a lot from me now, lol!!

Start calling 2 days after your file is submitted! When you finally hear that you are approved it will take about a week before you get your letter confirming...it is a great feeling! Good luck to you!!!

Congrats! I didn't wait for my confirmation letter. I called the dr office as soon as I knew I was approved. They can call and get confirmation from BCBS.
