  1. have you tried chewable? they tend to be a little nicer on my stomach. Costco has kirkland chewable childrens vitamins. :001_tongue: They look like little dinosaurs too. hahah
  2. WHOHOO!! That is great!! If you start feeling stressed again... (and if you can lift things safely now) Pick up a bag of dog food or cat sand at the store. They are close to this in weight. You will be amazed! That is soo great!! I cannot wait to be in the same boat! :001_tongue:
  3. Woohoo!! Congratulations!! Wishing you a seemless operation and quick recovery! Please post when you can. :001_tongue:
  4. Huge Congratulations Tiffykins!! Thank you so much for posting this. I am on day 4 of my liquid diet and I am struggling.. this afternoon was better I actually forgot about anything relating to food for a couple hours! : ) it is really great to see your progress and all of the advice you post on the forum. Thank you for being so supportive and honest. I wish you continued success!!!
  5. Just remember the people who matter love you just as you are! Their support and love will be what lifts you up on your journey!
  6. Definitely good for plain yogurt. I like to use sugar free hazelnut syrup, with cinnamon, and pumpkin spice.
  7. Glad to hear everything went great!! Hang in there... I am walking proof that the clear liquid thing is rough but actually doable. now I just need to get insurance approval. I am ready for the next part of my life. : )
  8. I have not had surgery yet but I am on the liquid diet. (day 4) It is hard but you can do it!! If I can make it through this anyone can. I have no will power. lol. I am sure your diet will have to change quite a bit but you should still be able to eat most things... it will just take time to progress to the next stage. The best advice I can give you is to think about how much you like food and then think about how much you like you current body. For me food is really a luxury when compared to how I feel health wise.. I am tired and cranky and feel like giving up but, I am going to do this! For me! There is not a type of food on the planet that I would give up that would make me resent feeling better. I might miss it now and then but with the sleeve you can have most kinds of food. (depending on how you tolerate it and your goals) The sleeve is a tool, you have to do the heavy lifting.
  9. Congratulations Angie!!! That is wonderful!!! You should be very proud of yourself~!
  10. I understand how you feel. I am tired of being the big one.. It would be really freaking nice to be described as the tall one. Instead of the BIG girl. lol
  11. My PCP was very supportive. Honestly it was a bit of a wakeup call for me... I realized that no matter how I feel inside, I am obese. I think there was a very small part of me holding out on the hope that I am not to that point, and he would tell me to look at other options.
  12. Congratulations!!! I understand how you feel... I have been gung-ho and then oh no in the same day. hahah
  13. The premier Protein shakes from costco are actually really good. I am getting a little tired of them being on day 4 of the liquid diet but.,... if you take them and put them in the blender with some crushed ice and a little sugar free torani syrup they are like a chocolate shake. heheh Hang in there guys!! I keep reminding myself if all the people on this forum can do it, I can to!! This week has really shown me how much of things I really need. I will never look at food the same way again.
  14. I understand... I am on day 4 of the liquid diet and I am about ready to take a bite out of my desk. I have not had surgery yet though... Anyway just wanted you to know I empathize.
  15. My two cents.. I would not want someone operating on me that treated me so poorly. There are ways to support someone and share information without being an ass. If it really bothers you I would talk to him next time and tell him how you feel. It may not register, but you will feel better about it and I can guarantee if he talks to other people like that they are upset too.
  16. Welcome!! I wish you all the best on your weightloss journey. Remember why you are having the surgery (when you are feeling down) and be true to yourself. College is a wonderful experience... lots of work, memories, new experiences, and I wouldn't trade a single moment.
  17. I sympathize... my husband and I started our liquid diet we are on day 3 and it has been pretty rough. I was doing pretty well today until someone at work heated up their lunch.. then I had to leave. hehe No sense making it harder! hehe I will admit that if my other co-workers didn't decide on their lunch plans quickly (and stop talking about options) I was going to smack them all hehe.
  18. Cool I never thought of trying sams club.. It looks like Bevmo carries them too. :thumbup1:
  19. There was another person on the site (I am sorry I don't remember who) that mentioned using sugar free torani syrups to kick up their protein shakes a notch. AWESOME IDEA!! Here are a few places that are reasonable for purchasing them. Torani Syrup, & Torani Sugar Free $4.95 per 750 ml bottle Amazon has a sample pack of small bottles. http://www.amazon.com/Torani-Variety-Sugar-25-36-Ounce-Bottles/dp/B003PFUNU4/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=grocery&qid=1278599900&sr=8-7
  20. not sure if you can put neosporin on the site... if so there is one that has a pain medicine in it. it works wonders for scrapes. I would call your doc to double check before using it.
  21. Wooho!! congratulations! The liquid diet is rough the first day.. I am on day two and it is a little easier... You can do it!
  22. Wishing you all the best!! I am on the second day of my liquid diet and I can tell you for awhile there I was considering not doing this.... It has been a little rough. However, I realized there are people that do this...they are on this forum and they will be there to cheer you and me on!! It is really great to have the support here. Hang in there and I look forward to the same happy things you are! : )
  23. It is up to you how much you tell work. I told my boss because I knew he would be supportive and I wanted him to know I would need to be out between 1-3 weeks depending on recovery. Hair loss is a hard one.. from everything I have researched it usually occurs month 3-7 then starts to rebound. There are a few people who are lucky and do not have much at all. (hoping to be in that boat) Honestly I would cut all of my hair off to be healthy again hehe. I wish you all the best on your journey! Research research research... I actually found a person on youtube that I have enjoyed watching his videos. His screen name is Thinjourney. Hope that is helpful to you.
  24. I completely understand the frustration!! hang in there.. remember why you are wanting to do this surgery. The surgeon wants to make sure you have the best possible scenario for surgery, I would be more worried if he/she didn't. As the saying goes better safe than sorry. Keep focusing on your goals!! ( oh and yes this is a moment that my advice is biting me on the arse hehe) One step at a time. Hang in there!! I am pulling for you!!!
