  2. good for you Steph!! It is really hard... the liquid diet. I am about to start our two week one August 30th. I remember from the 7 day our doctor wanted us to do just how hard it can be. I am generally ok after the 3rd day.. but I will tell you that the smell of food can turn you into part grizzly haha.. I might have knocked over my coworker for his hotdog. ROFL.. hang in there you are doing the right thing and change will be coming! : D
  3. If you want to upload a picture with your name it is under the profile settings and then avatar. :thumbup1:
  4. Congratulations!! you both look amazing!! It is very inspiring to see your photos. My husband and I will be starting this journey together September 13th.
  5. Keeping you in my thoughts!! please post when you can and share your experience... these stories help me to look at surgery with a clear mind and not wig out.
  6. "The best part of this journey has been figuring out that I'm in the driver's seat, and food is idly hanging out in the passenger's seat." Thank you for the quote Tiffy! I refuse to let food rule my life. I am the one in charge.. : D
  7. Keep up the good work~~!! Definitely follow the doctor's orders. One step at a time you are rocking it~! You are inspiring me.. I am set for a date of September 13th and trying not to wig out and eat everything I can find ahead of time. You would think I am a starving person... I think the psychological comfort of food will be the hardest to kick for me.
  8. I have two weeks of a liquid only diet starting on August 30th. It is going to be rough but I will make it! The thing I am dreading is the caffeine withdrawal... I love coffee too much haha. :wink0:

  13. Marilyn Monroe was a size 14 and she was sultry, sexy, and beautiful! Don't let the size war get you down. Appreciate how far you have come!! I would do a dance of joy to be in a 14 again!
  14. haha I think I tried the saw dust diet... LOL
  15. I am with Tiffy... if your body is asking for veggies, eat some. (pending Dr. OK) also make sure you are getting your vitamins in... after surgery this is crucial.
  16. This chart might help a little... Fitness Explosion, Carb Calorie Protein Chart I am sure there are more out there. I did a google search for "oz and protein chart" Happy hunting... let me know if you find other links I should check out.
  17. You can also get unflavored protein powder and add it to other things are eating... pudding, crystal light, etc... If you have not tried the premier protein shakes from costco they are nice. I like them.
  18. Keeping you in my thoughts! :001_wub: Let us know how you are doing!!
  19. Welcome to the board!! There are a lot of wonderful posts on the forum. I am really glad that I found this place too. Everyone is willing to share their experiences and offer advice. It has helped me to make a more informed decision about my surgery. I am scheduled for September 13th.
  20. Hang in there... I feel your pain all too well. The entire process start to approval, has taken my husband and I over 8 months. We finally have a surgery date in September. It has been discouraging because we hoped to have our surgery before classes started again at the university but, all you can do is go with the flow. One step at a time. I would call and ask her if she can move anything up for you... maybe the person who is doing the scheduling can contact you sooner?
  21. So great to hear about your wonderful progress!! You give me inspiration.
  22. hang in there! you are almost through the sea of red tape..
  23. Congrats!! My date is September 13th so you can cheer me on and I will cheer you on too!
  24. The process takes awhile for most people.. I finally have my surgery date. It took almost a year with all of the requirements from the insurance. I am in the US though and the policies might be different.
  25. The process started with an information session at Banner Gateway Bariatric Center. The information sessions are free. Take the time to do your research.
