  1. I am so sorry you are feeling this way. I wish I had some wisdom to share... It sounds like you need a break, some time to re-focus on YOU.

Don't be too hard on yourself, you haven't gained and that is a big victory. Forgive yourself and move forward.

I hope it all settles soon.

  2. Have you tried mixing protein powder into your oatmeal? May help get the protein up. Good luck!

Yes I like asparagus, but have not tried it since banding. Chose skinny stalks (too big and they are woody), and cut the ends off - they can be tough too. I have steamed it, boiled it and my favourite was roasting it in the oven with a drizzle of olive oil and light sprinkle of a coarse salt. You can microwave it too in a dish with a bit of water.

  3. I was reading some things that kinda scared me too. But it is so true that it is a small percentage that are posting to seek help or guidance. There are tons of people who don't post here often because they have no issues at all.

I wish there were some people around me too. It can get lonely.

    You are doing great though!

  4. I know what that's like! I did that all the time pre-band! I think Sharpie is right, it is part of the addiction but also part of the emotional eating. Sad- eat, Lonely - eat, Celebrate - eat, at least for me. The only emotion that didn't make me want to eat was anger.

  5. They all seem to differ on the meals thing. Mine is 3 small (1 C) meals and 2 snacks, eat every 3 hours. I have read many on here do 2-3 small meals a day and that's it.

Good luck on your upcoming procedure. Don't listen to the cheaters. :)

  6. I am not there yet, but I do have a teen and yes they are pretty selfish. They just can't help it. lol Try not to let it hurt your feelings.

Once you heal and feel better you can do other fun things that don't involve food, or at least better foods, and this will also set a great example for your family. That's my plan. Outings, mini-putt, hikes, swimming/beach, family game night, back yard sports - always wanted to play laser tag! etc.

I was a size 2-4 at one point in my life, but I wish I knew then about eating better and activity. I try to tell my teen to be conscious of the types of foods she eats not only for her health in general, but there may come a day when it all catches up...it all caught up to me.
