Day 8 post-opt

I was able to eat another jello cup and a sugar free Popsicle It's strange because I can feel my stomach making sounds like its hungry but i don't have an appetite for food. in an hour i will try to drink a protein shake. I've been reading a lot of blogs and comments on here and its making my head spin. I am worried about getting filled. some people said it hurt and they didn't feel good after the shot. I was under the impression that they numbed the port site before injecting you with the needle??

I was happy when I saw my friend gabby yesterday. She gave me a hug and looked at me and said you look great and she noticed that I lost weight. That felt great to hear someone say 327 looked great. I'm sure I am less than that. I just don't want to face the scale because It's not really about the numbers. its about how i feel. coming from 379/380 all the way to the low 300's is awesome. I can walk down a flight of stairs now without slumping over or being out of breath. I can walk on a treadmill for an hour at a pace of 2.0-2.6. and I know once i am able to workout again I will continue to progress. My goal is to be able to run. i have a little niece and a little sister that I want to be able to chase around.

since I have an extra day off I will spend it trying to relax and focus on getting better. My life has already changed. I've meet three people here who inspired me and many others whose stories have help me. I wish they were in chicago or close around my hometown. I could use a buddy during these times. it helps to talk to people who know what you are going through. ive vented enough for now. enjoy your day. sorry about my randomness and grammar. I am not going to spend much time worrying about that, simply just expressing myself.

Please don't let anyone scare you about this journey! Each person's experience is unique. I have had my band for 7 years and had many fills. Never has it hurt or caused me any problems after a fill. And this with a needle phobia! tiny little sting when they start the lidocain injection, but I have never felt anything associated with a fill after that.

After only 8 days, you are feeling good and noticing a change in how you function, and apparently other people are noticing positive changes as well. WooHoo! Celebrate baby!!!

When I first got my band, I didn't really know anyone else who had one and didn't do any kind of support group. I think now that may have been good for me because I didn't hear any horror stories or other things that messed with my head.

Just follow the rules and do whatever your doc tells you. You are already rockin' this!!!

Thank you shelly!! I am still happy with my choice and i know it will take time. I am still in the beginning stages so I still have a lot to learn. I treated myself to another sf freeze pop. lol I see my doctor again on friday. I'll be starting my mushy foods and hopefully getting my staples taken out.

SORRY.....two week mark and I can tell a big difference in my energy level It is weird that although not much weight has come off my attitude in regards to losing has taken a huge turnabout!! I am very excited for you and hope you continue!! BTW I was born and raised in South Suburbs!! I am hating that I am missing the Taste BUT that can also be a good thing!!!

It is a wonderful feeling. especially when people notice. It makes you feel like you are heading in the right direction. I just saw advertising for the Taste of Chicago. I havent been there in years so i wont really miss much this year.

I was reading some things that kinda scared me too. But it is so true that it is a small percentage that are posting to seek help or guidance. There are tons of people who don't post here often because they have no issues at all.

I wish there were some people around me too. It can get lonely.

You are doing great though!

Honestly for all the hassle I've had with my band, I'd still do it again 5 times over. It has completely changed my life. Be prepared for something to go wrong, but chances are, nothing will. You've made such progress already! Imagine your life in a year, and in 2 years. Focus on your goal and you will get there, I believe it. :)
