  1. Love your attitiude and your funny creative posts. :)

I normally break the wrist of the picture taker and smash the camera under my boot, Im finding it tricky!!

Me too, fortunately/unfortunately I did have a pic taken of me at my heaviest. I was standing in front of a cruise ship. If you look closely at my waist, you can just make out the front and back of the ship peeking out around me. :o

  2. OMG I just aquired one of those horrendous machines and no I wont use it. I hate it and I cant sleep. omg its barbaric I feel like im drowning.

I've felt that "drowning" sensation a few times when I didn't have the machine turned on before I put on the mask. But I was over a year suffering from severe sleep apnea. I had to take caffeine pills daily to stay awake and never ever felt like I was awake.

I spent all my time off work, sitting at my desk feeling half awake and no amount of sleep would leave me feeling rested. It always felt like I had stayed up all night and I hit that 7am brick wall. The feeling that you'd give anything to go to bed right now. I had that feeling all the time.

So it was a big relief when I had my 1st nights rest with the CPAP. I felt so rested that I didn't care if I had to wear the mask. I don't feel completely rested now days, but it beats the old days when I felt that life wasn't worth living.

  3. Joatsaint, are you just having surgery or according to your stats you had it in December. Are you male or female? I am just full of questions. Best of luck either way.

I had my surgery in December, but I republish these articles to share my experiences. I've read several blogs on here that had great information, but they were published long before I found this board. If I hadn't stumbled across them, I would not have had a chance to read other people's experiences. If they had republished them, it would have benefited more people.

  4. My stomach didn't tolerate salad/broccoli/cauliflower/or any kind of fruit till about the 3rd month. Week 1 was pretty much nothing - I was feeling so much pain, I couldn't eat. Week 2 - 4 was protein drinks and Cream of Chicken soup. Weeks 5 - 8, I was eating grilled chicken I ran through the food processor, refried beans and salsa pretty much 24/7.

Since then, my stomach will grumble but tolerate - tomatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, and (insert any fibrous vegetable here). And it grumbles but tolerates any fruit I've tried - apples, bananas, strawberries, grapes, pineapple.

All you can do is test your stomach with a very small bite and wait a few minutes to see how it responds.

  5. A lot of the reason I haven't posted in my blog lately is this funny thing called life.

    I guess that's why you're bed's so messy! :-P

Congratulations on having so much success with the weight loss and with the boyfriend.

You're looking incredibly hot. Keep pimpin that sleeve!

P.S. Next time, please, less bed, more bun shots! Thank you. :-P

  6. Really enjoyed reading your post. Especially about writing sleeve on your stomach! I wish I had thought to do something along those lines. At the hospital, every time a nurse would come in to give me meds, take blood pressure or anything, they'd ask me my name and birthdate - to verify that they had the right patient. Finally, I started saying my name and birthdate to anyone that walked in the room, just to be funny. Now I wish I had taken a sharpie and written my name and birthdate on my gut as well. :-P

  7. Not a sub, I was given a whole wheat bread sandwich at work about week 6 - roast beef, lettuce, tomato and mayo. My stomach did not like some part of it. After the 1st bite, my stomach was bubbling and cramping - not anything bad, just enough to make me stop eating.

  8. "I think I'm more scared of this being taken away from me now more than anything."

I think we've all had that moment, been fat so long, how will I adjust to the emotional and physical changes. But it will happen slowly, so there is time t get use to it. Good luck.

  9. It was funny. jeeze lighten up...some folks need to remove the stick from their hiney and eat a cookie every once in a while.....nobody's judging. There just seems to be the same flipping questions getting asked all the time. joatsaint, you left out the one about how soon after surgery can I start banging at the bar again.

Sorry, you're right. I kinda forget to add questions to the post. I try to remember as I see new common questions posted on the main forum.

I also need to add the one about all the post-surgery horny women. :-D

So can I consider you one of my Haters now, I'm starting a following for my cult. :-)

  10. NurseGrace,

Hopefully this post comes across as it was meant, to be funny and informative.

I work in IT and know that not everyone knows about using the search box on the forum or using Google.

I am sure that I've gone looking for help from a mechanic or store clerk, in their mind they are thinking, "Well, why didn't he just ____________."

Many times I want to make posts about using google and the search funtion before asking really simple questions but I always hesitate. I think the use of that meme was PERFECT.
