  1. Sending you possitve thoughts for a speedy recovery
  2. Glo, did you go from liquids to solids? This could be why you are seeing a weight gain..most of us here oncewewent from liquids to either mushy or solids saw a weight gain, it is only normal. Do not worry, this is just the first few weeksm focus more on healing, once you get your fills, things will change. I know it is frustrating but you are normal.
  3. Happy Birthday Mariposa Hope you are having awonderful day
  4. My first fill was 1.1 cc's it worked great for me for about 2 months then I had another fill.
  5. I was told by my Dr. to not eat after 20 minutes..taking an hour to eat defeats the purpose of filling the pouch, the pouch will start to empty before the hour is up...so your pouch is emptying as you are still eating, does that make sense?Smaller bites will help it to beless painful..get yourself a small fork to help you to take smaller bites, this theory really does work, it is what I do, I have a crab fork, I take small bites.
  6. Do not let one person scare you off... You have every right to be here and get the support you need. If this continues, contact one of the moderators and they will handle it. This member is in violation of the rules she agreed to when she or he signed up for this site. Let the moderators handle it, If it were me, I'd forward her email to a moderator and let them see for themselves the content of the email, if it is harrassment then they will be reprimanded appropriately.
  7. Lisa have you ever had an Endoscopy? I had one and it was determined I had gastritis..and I got great relief from making myself burp also 2 of the symptoms, was " feeling of fullness" and the air sensation you explain. The most common symptoms are abdominal upset or pain. Other symptoms are belching, abdominal bloating, nausea, and vomiting or a feeling of fullness or of burning in the upper abdomen. I was told many bandsters have gastritis and do not even know it, since there is no reflux or heartburn. I had zero symptoms until I was unfilled then I had all of the symptoms..I was suprised to know I had gastritis. I only found out from the endo they did during my bowel obstruction surgery. Not saying you have gastritis, but if this continues to be a problem call your D.r and have an endo, it for nothing else but good measure and band care.
  8. SOunds to me like Gas..I still get trapped gas pains and Iam 18 months post op. The only remedy for me for gas it to walk walk walk and take a few Gas X
  9. We all fall off the wagon...I'm 18 months postop and have fallen off, the key is to know when to get back up! The great thing about the band is those times when you have fallen off the wagon, NOT much damage is done! So you had 1 slice of pizza, bet you it is about 3-4 less slices then you would of eaten had you not had your band. Do not get down on yourself..tomorrow is a new day...PROTEIN Protein PROTEIN..You can do it!
  10. Nykee..that is fantastic news! I am so happy for you. Way to go girl on the wieght loss.. If all this is happening then I say you are doing OK with your band, just try and stray from the junk which you seem determined to do...One day at a time Nykee is all you can do! Congratulations
  11. Here is an excerpt from the Inamed handbook that is valuable to your situation With the Lap Band system in place, you should be able to eat only small ammount so the food you eat should be as healthy as possible. Do not fill your stomach pouch with :junk: food that lacks Vitamins and other important nutrients. Your meals should be high in Protein and vitamins and low in carbs. solid food is more important then liquid food or soft food. The lap Band system will have little or no effect if you only eat liquid or soft food. It passes through the stomach outlet very quickly and does not make you feel full. Here is another excerpt form the book If the adjustment (fill) results in too tight of a stomach opening you could have a hard time eating most foods, sometimes this causes people to avoid solid foods. They may drink liquid meals or soft food meals and this may result in weight gain. A band that is too tight may cause reflux symptoms and can also cause frequent vomiting. Sounds to me that your band may be a tad too tight..you should be able to eat solidsand still lose weight. Having as little as .1 or .2 cc's removed will give you releif and able to eat solids while still lose weight..a band that is too tight is at greater risk of slipping.. if it were me I would call my doctor and have a small ammount of saline removed.

How much protei nare you drinking? How many grams? More portien will help with the shakes and the dizziness. I had the same problem 8 days post op. If it were me I wouls stick to the progrma and not do mushys til Monday per your Dr.'s orders..up the protein drinks, maybe some watered down blended soups will help.

  24. Penni, I commend you for such a courageous post. Getting back to basics is the only thing that works for me, it seems as we get farther out into our journey with our bands we become complacent and some of our old habits creep back in atleast that is the case for me. The first step is realizing it which you have, now we need to act on it. I'm here to offer you all the support you need. You and I both know that journaling really does work. Seem when I journal, I make better food choices, it something about seeing it on paper that makes the difference for me..I started journaling again on Sept 12th, the Monday after the Vegas Bash and I have been committed to it ever since...when I journal my caloric intake is between 1200 - 1400 calories a day, without journaling Im breaking the 2000 calorie barrier .I have cut out all of my after dinner Snacks and just drink Water in my room so Im not near the kitchen I agree you have to start the excitement all over again..I got that excitement back this Monday when I hit the 100 lb mark, I seem to be refocused and dedicated to reaching my new goal of 15 more lbs. You can do this Penni, you know what to do..now just do it! You did not come this far to gain the weight back..we are so blessed to have such a wonderful tool to help us with this battle...use it to your advantage. Again, I'm here to offer you support any way I can..
