Im Back from the Lap Band Conference
I'm so glad you posted this, I have been following the 3 a day dairy for 3 weeks now and have lost 5 lbs. I truly believe it is what helped me break my several month long plateau. Thanks for sharing this with us...sounds you like you a very informative & enjoyable time

Having port removed on Friday
I would be nervous too, but I'm sure your Dr. will be cautious in that regard, he knows the ramifications if he goes too tight. You will just have to do your part in making the fill level work for you until December which is not too far away. I'm very sorry to hear of your ordeal and I wish you the best.. ( hugs to you )

Sugar Addiction
Get up of your butt and call me next time girlfriend! I will talk you out of it or get your mind off of it. Remember Sugar craves Sugar, once you start for the day you can not stop, same with Carbs. Get off the carbonation, switch to Crystal light..get yourself some 20 oz Water bottles and get yourself some Crystal light singles made for a 20 oz bottle drop in in your water bottle and drink that all day, it is sweet and at the same time you are drinking all of your water. This is how I get my water in and curb my craving for sugar. Yes lets see it Delarla! You can do this..it is now 5:00 pm..how are you doing?

Does band size matter?
I have the smaller band..I have 1.5 cc's in my band and have good restriction, the only thing I have heard from others who have the larger band is it take more fills to get restriction then with the smaller band. DO not know any other pros or cons with the larger band vs the smaller band.

To Fill or Not to Fill?
Angie, this happens to me everytimne I schedule a fill..the minute i hang up the phone from making the appointment I get my restriction back.. I have a fill scheduled for Oct 31st and I'm thinking of canceling it, I lost 5 lbs last week and had a PB from hell last night. Its a strange phenomenon, other have had the same thing happen so your not alone

definition of plateau?
I had a plateau for months, had another fill that did nothing..I think the biggest thing is patience. It will happen, you will break the plateau, I had a 5 lb loss in 1 week, amazing! Have not seen that much weight loss in 1 week in over a year. I started journaling my food intake on Sept 12th and started eating more dairy foods, 2 glasses of milk and 1 yogurt every day. I think both of those attributed to my weight loss. The journaling helps you to see where you can cut out, and all those little bites you take here and there throughout the day you do not think matter, they do. The studies say with 3 servings a day of dairy and a reduced calorie weight loss will help to lose wieght, so I tried it. It seemd to work for me. DOnt get discouraged, keep remembering all of the great NSV's you have had so far, do not let the scale dictate your success or failures with the band..NSV's are just as important as what thescale reads! Good Luck and hang in there..

Frustrated...
I can so relate to this, we have done the same thing with our youngest son who had cancer, he missed out on 4 yrs of his life so we have been making it up to him ever since, but I now realize I have created a monster. I feel your frustration. One day at a time is all I do..I have made some changes and they are working. I work hand in hand with his teacher to correct any behavioral problems he may have we have a system where the teacher sends me home a slip everyday telling me whether my son stayed on task or not and turned in his work and was focused or not , if NOT he has consequences, if he stays on task he gets rewards..it is working beautifully. My son enjoys being rewarded for his good behavior then punished for his bad behavior. It can be a reward something as simple as getting an hour more TV time, or 1 hour more to stay outside and play..or a new video game at the end of the week...or dinner out with just me and dad ( no brothers) anywhere of his choice. My son is a very active child who loves to play outside and he is always doing something, he is the most popular 6th grader in his school, onme of my punishments is no computer no cell phone, no instant messenger, n ogoing out with his friends on Friday or Saturday nights to the arcade ot the movies. that kills him so he is really focusing on behaving so he does not lose privledges..Good luck and hang in there and know you are not alone

I need some help!
If it is McDonalds you need, go to their web site and print out their menu with all of the items on it and how much each items has in calories, it's about choices basically, you can eat fast food and still lose weight. My brother and I just sat last night and looked at the McDonalds menu and all the calories in each item since that is where my family wanted dinner from ,you may be suprised to find that some of the salads have just as many calories as the burgers do. Like Vines said, dont beat yourself up, you are still eating less then pre -band. You have recognized and confessed to the problem.. You can do this!

I'm in the 100 lb club.. FINALLY!!!
Thanks everyone..I went out and celebrated by shopping..bought myself 2 new pairs of shoes ( with heels) never have I worn heels! , 6 new pairs of pants ( capri's) and 6 new shirts. I'm extremely happy and extremely excited to finally have lost 100 lbs. I have set a new goal... I would like to lose 15 more to make me 150. I can not express enough how patience is so vital during this journey..for several months I saw no weight loss on the scale but still was achieving NSV's daily..but when the two come together it is fantastic! For those struggling, dont give up, dont get frustrated.I'm here to tell you it will happen if you work with your band. Thanks to all of you for all of your support throughout
