Halloween Traditions
Some of my fondest childhood memories are on Halloween, maybe this is why it is my favortie day of the year. My mother always made us grilled cheese sandwiches and homemade chili for dinner before we went out trick or treating...so for the last 15 yrs I have been doing it for my 3 boys....this is just one of my memories as a child and tradition that I keep alive

Confession: I had ?regular? food-help!
Be careful to NOt do it again until your Dr. tells you too.. Yes there is a risk of eating solids too soon before your Dr. allows. The reason is the digestion process. even though your food went down OK and you had not problems, that is not the issue, it iswhat goes on after that, the digestion. The band needs to set into place , anchor in if you will..and any food needing to be digested too soon is not good. There is a lot of rumblinmg, churning and turnin that goes on down there during digestion. I was told that if Iate solids too son, I could risk my band slipping since it has not anchored in properly within the first 3 weeks. Scar tissues needs to form to keep it in place..The sopup may not be a problem but if you are eating other solids, if it were me I'd stop and continue to follow my Dr.s instructions. I know it is tough but we all made it through to tel labout it, and the reward is so worth it Good Luck and hang in there

Are there any good dating services?
Where do you live, I have a brother who is looking for a nice woman, weight is not an issue with him. He has just lost over 100 lbs himself so he knows the struggle. He is the greatest man and very handsome too.I do not understand why he can not find himself a good woman. He has a good job, makes good money, loves kids. Has a good tender heart. If I was single he would be my kind of man!

Fills for Mexico Pts.
It's always noice to know of a Dr. who wil ltake on patients who were banded in MX, there are not many of them out there, thanks for sharing the info..I'm fortunate to live close to Tj but others are not so fortunate. How are you doing by the way Lins?
-
How Long did you wait for surgery?
It all depends on who your insurance is and if they cover it or not..If you are a self pay you can be scheduled in as little as a week or sooner. I shceduled mine very quiickly, I went to MX for mine and was a self pay.

What happens to some bandsters?
Some go away, they become complacent with their bands, some no longer need the support, some have failed and are afraid to come back and some have reached their goal weight and no longer feel the need to post ...I for one, need the support of the boards, regardless of where I'm at in this journey..I believe the boards been very helpful tool to my success.
-
How did you determine your goal weight?
My biggest determining factor was that I did not want ot be fat at 40..I had my surgery 3 weeks before my 38th birthday so I had to two years to get this fat off..I'm now 39, will be 40 in April and I now will be fit at 40! My Dr. told me 90 lbs but I am going strong still and have lost 102.5 in 18 months..I'm going for another 12.5 lbs to make me at 150 lbs for a total loss of 115 lbs.

Famous Bandsters?
I guess I'm lucky then..my scars are so minimal..I can barely see them with NO make up or Scar cream. My Dr. must have a fabulous technique. Why endorse another product if they have the band, none of those celebs need the endorsement money just to be dishonest

magical lapband.. has anyone else experienced this?
Nykee, WOW Thanks for all of that! I can only speak for me..I know for me that when my restriction level is good..I do not even think about food. It is the strangest thing..there is NO obsession on when I'm going to eat again or what am I going to eat. ..sometimes I forget to eat. The last month my 1.5 cc's have been great restriction for me..I have been at 1.5 level since the end of June and had not lost any weight but the month of October I have lost 7 lbs and it is only the 3rd week of October...something has changed. I'm very happy for you..sure sounds like things are finally working out for you.
