  1. Tod I was on a 6 month plateau with zero weight loss. I started writing down everything I ate..in one month I lost 10 lbs. Journaling your food really does help. It keeps you accountable. There is something to be said about seeing what you eat on paper. It makes you make better choices.
  2. I'm a chocoholic and I am successful Enough said!
  3. Welcome home Jonathan... You have taken the first step, coming back here where we all love you and want to support you. You have had a rough year, no doubt about it..through it all you still have managed to lose 44 lbs..NOT gain 44 lbs, that is a victory in itself. Be proud. You're home now here with all of us. You can do this Jonathan. One thing that works for me in accountability is to journal what I eat and I mean every single bite. Something about seeing it on paper really helps me to make better choices when I do eat. Maybe try journaling for awhile see if it helps you to not eat the crap food. We are all here to help you Jonathan to get back opn track...
  4. Francesca, you know I iwll be thinking about you girlfriend...I will call you on Monday the 21st after I get home from TJ and let you know the status of my endo..
  5. UHC is one of the easiest on getting approved, dont worry. I'm sure you wil lbe approved also. Keeping my fingers crossedfor you
  6. You may experience a Blue time..it is more so from the loss of food, food has been our best friend for many years, giving it up for the first few weeks during the healing and post op phase could create some saddness, but once you start to see the results, it all goes away. The great thing about the band for me is I still enjoy food and Iam losing weight! You will be fine
  7. Your band needs to set tinto place, sort of like anchoring in. Any solids foods could be harmful since digestion with solid foods is a work out on your stomach with so much turning and churning, it could make your band slip if it has not set into place. Not to mention you most likely have lots of swelling which would make for solids very painful going down. Be wise, follow your Dr.s orders, they are there for a reason. Congratulations to you on your new band. I wish you lots of success
  8. I love turquoise or pink with brown. Ialso wear red with brown. Yellow goes goodwith brown too:)

  11. Sounds great but Cauliflower is one of those foods I was told to avoid after banding due top the gas it causes..I love cauliflower, I may have to try it anyways with this recipe sounds yummy!
  12. Happy Birthday Trauma Nurse Hope your day was special
  13. I just saw this thread too.. Congratulations on your new band. I wish you lots of success. Here's to a happier healthier life!
  14. There are a couple of members here who go to Dr. Mckeen Maybe you can PM them. If I recall they get together from time to time Vera and Cadydid are members here who both use Dr. McKeen I believe.
  15. I was unfilled completely for 2 months and I actually lost 4 lbs during that time. I was a very good bandster duringthattime. I had such fearsof gainingweight. I now have 1.5 cc;s in my band and it is perferct restriction. The key is to not let your head get the best ofyou during this time, make wise choices. I know it is easier said then done, but it can be done. You have had great success so far so that should help to keep you motivated to continue...journal your food, it helps to make better choices when you see it on paper. It really does work! Good Luck to you
  16. my doctor requires 3 days of liquids after a fill.
  17. Great Job! Congratulations, you have done well
  18. The redness and itching could be a direct link to the bandaids and tape used. Many have reactions to it. If there is no oozing of the port incision or fever or hot to the touch. I would not worry too much, you are most likely either healing or having a reaction from the sticky stuff from the tape and bandaids.
  19. Every doctor is diferent with the post op instructions and clear or full liquids but all of them do require no solids until the band has set into place.Any food that has to be digested can make for a rumbly churining ordeal in your stomach which could make the bandslip before it hasset into place. Just follow his instructions and no solids until he tells you so. You'll befine. Congratulations on your new band. I wish you lots of success with it!
  20. You are not alone here..what you are feeling is normal and many of us here have been where you are. For years food has been our best friend..Now suddenly it is no longer our best friend and that my friend is a huge loss for us. It does get better I promise you, especially once you start seeing the results of this wonderful tool you have been blessed with. Hang in there and know we are all here to help you get through this difficult time. One day at a time..you will get through this. P.S. I too understand the Bi-polar side of it all too. I have a son who is Bi-polar, it is a difficult disease, I'm happy to hear yours is under control.
  21. I have days like this too..I think we all do.. the good thing about the band is even though you think oyu are eating alot, you really are not.Dont let it get you dwon.. Tomorrow is a new day, get back up on that band wagon..protein protein protein in the morning..it will keep hunger at bay all day long. You can do it!
  22. Great News Margo, strange how it takes a few days for the fill to kick in huh? Some get it instant, I have been one of those ones it takes a few days. Glad you waited it out.

Trish your shoulder pain is most likely your signal to stop eating, we all get a "soft stop" signal..this is very likely yours, I have heard many others tell me they get the shoulder pain also. You say you are eating way too much so it makes perfect sense since we no longer get that "full" feeling anylonger. My soft stop signal is an ice cream headache, try eating less at each meal and see if it helps. Others get a runny nose or a hiccup or a cough
  24. I'm condused ..you are losing weight well with your band right and because you have saline in it right? Well, seems to me the band is doing it's job..once you have thesalineremoved you may find you are not losing weight. I had my band unfilled for 2 months and believe me when I tel lyou, it's a whole different world with no saline..thank god it is only unfilled for 2 months or I could of been in some serious trouble with weight gain. If you do not want your band any longer, do not get it removed, get it unfilled, then see how you do, that is the great thing aboutthe band, if you start to gain you can always get it filled again...a question though...why are you sick of your band if it is working for you? How much fill do you have? Have you considered getting a partial unfill?
  25. Um Forward the email to your surgeon so he can see for himself, express how upset you were and how rude you felt this other Dr. treated you. I'm glad you got things taken care of and it was not band related. Usuallyt darker urine means dehydration..keep pumping in those liquids. I know when I'm dehydrated I get a bladder infection very easily...
