I went to Tijuana, paid one price that was all inclusive, transport back and forth between san diego airport and Tijuana, preop tests, hotel, surgery... bought my own plane tickets and the only other money I spent was on my meals and shopping. I didn't have to send a partial payment deposit or anything like that. I think several mexican surgeons offer all inclusive packages. Research who you'd like to use, then call and ask for package pricing... I had a notebook full of info before I picked. Good Luck to you!

I have never heard of either of those doctors either. (which concerns me a bit because we talk about Mexico a lot here at LBT)

I was banded in Mexico too. I would say that you can expect full costs of about $10,000 after all is said and done and you are back home recovering.

I went to Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey. Ready4Achange.com.

I qualified for their "fast track" program. I paid $7999 plus my plane ticket which was $438.00. No other costs - they take care of everything.

Have you tried carolina surgical center in Greensboro? They accept medicare - as far as I remember. My BMI was too low, so my insurance wouldn't pay - so I went to Mexico.

Dr Gonzales just went up on his fills from $200 to $250. Just so you know.

I have not heard of either of the MX docs you mentioned. Check themout thoroughly before you schedule. Personally, I wouldn't go unless you get some really really good persoanl references. That's me. Let us know what you find out.

Don't give up on Medicare, though, unless the 10K+ isn't going to break the bank. It's lots less hassle in MX without all of the insurance hulabaloo. Just get a reputable doc.

Thanks for info on Fills

Wonder if Medicare will cover fills after the surgery ?

Yes, I would imagine. Others on here with Medicare have them covered. It ought to be covered, how could you have a successful band surgery without the appropriate after-care, fills included? I dunno for sure, I'll bet there is a co-pay involved. Check to be sure, but if the surery is covered, so is the after-care.
