You're not gross. The gas doesn't stop or at least with me. My stomach makes noises whenever I go to bed at night, too. Happy you're now post and not pre anymore.
  5. When in doubt call your dietitian. That person is always a great help. I am able to email mine and get answers within 24 hours. Good luck.
  6. I go almost to every support group at the hospital. They are the same day every month and they are great. I have them in my calendar book for the year and work around them. Most months my husband joins me and he has learned a lot, too. They are extremely helpful and no one judges you, they help a real lot.
  7. I have a protein shake every morning for breakfast because I hate breakfast foods. My choice not the doctor's. I use to love french toast and had 1/2 a piece a few weeks ago and it did nothing for me. Weird how your favorite turns into, blah.
  8. That is super!!!

Just had to share, I made the best dinner tonight. I took my filet and cut it into very small pieces and put it in an Asian sauce. I stir fried pea pods, water chestnuts and almonds with sesame seeds in an different Asian sauce. Then I cooked the filet and added the 2 together and had wild and brown rice. Uncle Ben's has one cup ready to eat, I love them. I keep getting bored with food and this one was a great one. For lunch I had a huge salad and sliced deli turkey. I don't use dressing (never have had it) so I know my lunch was lo cal. If I think of other great recipes, I will share them. I do make a great salmon, too. I use the Asian sauce with sesame seeds and make it crispy either on the cook top or in the oven. I love that meal too. I live in Boston so I know my sauces are local.
  10. WOW!!!!!!!!! That is super. The snow globe is great, enjoy it every day. I have met some wonderful New Friends on this site.

Welcome to the blog. Glad to hear you're taking care of yourself after so many surgeries. I have an awful back but so far surgery was not mentioned. We are all here to listen and we do not judge but try to help. We try to answer all questions and will say to you when needed-go to the doctor. Good luck.
  12. People fail, not their tool is true. My cousin had bypass about 6 years ago and told her doctor it failed. She has wine every day, snacks and has a drink when dining out. She failed. Her mother had bypass well over 25 years ago and gained back everything plus, they did what they wanted, eat, eat and eat more. I follow all my instructions. I go almost every month to my support group at the hospital and love them.

Welcome back. Maybe blogging again will also help you. Going to the gym is wonderful. I joined a month ago and love it, never thought those words would come from couch potato. I bought a Fitbit and log all my food and it records my movement. Maybe invest in something like that and it may help you, also. Good luck.
  14. I do eat pizza, just not like I use to. Someone recently was putting down the band and not being told about medications. I was told I would need vitamins, minerals, B12 and fish oil. These were mentioned more than once and I take all chewables and they taste fine. Also mentioned was having their gall bladder out, that was one of the pre op tests. I had mine removed 38 years ago so I didn't need it done.

I am very surprised about the salmon. That was one of my first soft foods. I know everyone is different. Good luck.
  16. Good evening I just bought at Target, adult gummies fish Oil by Nature made. They don't taste bad. I just don't like gummie candy. The jar was $10. where I live. Also where I live, Boston area, Target takes other store's coupons. I had a $3. coupon for the fish oil from BJ's and Target took it. Good luck with finding the right fish vitamin.
  17. Good luck tomorrow. The pre op is over and now the beginning of the new you starts!
  18. Happy Birthday Cheryl! Happy birthday to you. You are doing super. Enjoy your day and evening out. Maybe you can call it your 1st birthday since you have a new and better body now. Love, Arlene
  19. Congratulations!!!!!!!! You seem like you have your head on straight and focused to succeed. It's great when rings fit. My original one from 42 years ago fits again and my other 2 newer ones with ring guards are big. It is great. I have a necklace I wear almost everyday and that hangs down more. The gas after the band is awful, happy your's is gone. Keep up the good work.
  20. Good luck with the band. I don't dream of food. I just came from the food market and in the lobby were the cute Girl Scouts selling cookies. I just said, sorry I don't eat cookies. I feel bad because that is their big fund raiser but my health comes first now. Good luck.
  21. Never chew gum after the band. I was told by my doctor, each is different, that if swallowed it has to be surgically removed. So please ask.
  22. Wonderful!!!!!!!! Very happy to hear you are enjoying your new life with the band. We all started out like you. The pain after the surgery might have been from the gas that gets trapped in your shoulders. That happened with me. Enjoy biking with your family.
  23. Very happy to hear you're doing better. I found after the pre-op and post -op I had almost no desire to eat except I felt like chewing something.
  24. Sorry to hear about your father. Glad to see you're getting back on track.I was not an exercise person either but I joined a gym with my husband and we both love it and enjoy going almost every day. We push each other. Maybe you can find a push me peron, too.
  25. Wonderful! You are a great role model for all of us. Thanks for sharing your doctor's appointment. Love the new picture-you look super! Have a wonderful birthday.
