  1. WOW, 40 lbs congratulations! Don't be nervous, no big deal!
  2. Saw this show too. An Atkins spokesperson. The rest of the show,WOW!
  3. You can personally message (PM) me here anytime. You just go to my profile and click on "send a message ".
  4. You don't have to tell anyone about having surgery unless you want to. Just say, I'm trying really hard to eat healthy and exercise, which is the truth. As far as dating, same thing unless it gets really serious. Best wishes!
  5. Also OP you might get more replies if you go into the special forum thats just for UK patients. Just a thought, good luck!
  6. Too tight & needs a unfill. You could save a lot of money and just have the band totally unfilled. You are right, this is your decision, but I wouldn't suffer until surgery. To newbies The LB is not a miracle cure for obesity, it is a tool to help you, but you have to work with band, Dr & bariatric staff.
  7. WTG!!! Keep it up!
  8. Another great post Floridays! My kids get so mad at me b/c I feel the same way. Like you, I say you pick. Can't wait until the eye rolls stop! Maybe I'll show them this post and they'll get it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
  9. Missy's advice was spot on! Get back to your bariatric staff. The band or us can not stop you from eatin candy &cookies, only you can stop that. It's not about willpower, its about Wantpower. Do you want it? Then get to your Dr and get started saying "no more". You can do this, it's not easy, but it is doable! Best Wishes to you!
  10. That was the hardest part for me, but I like you kept busy doing things and it did pass quickly. Every day gets better &better. Hang in there! Congratulations on being on the banded side!
  11. Virtual clipboard, a way to save things virtually instead of clipping magazine articles. recipes, jokes, favorite things, places, pictures anything you like.
  12. Congratulations! Stick around here for support, knowledge & inspiration. Someone on the forum said to write a letter to yourself on why LBS is important to you and what you expect from it. Then when times get tough, which it will, you can go back and remind yourself why you wanted this. Thought that was a good idea. You have to have WANT POWER! Best Wishes!
  13. skinnytaste.com is good too
  14. If you got on Pinterest, you'd learn a lot about me.
  15. I have a Pinterest board just for her recipes! So that would be a yes!
  16. Glad to hear you're alright! Always better to be safe than sorry. Good luck on your journey!
  17. You are doing great! 22 lbs in 2 mths averages out to 11 lbs per month, so that exceeds 1-2 lbs a week. Try to to compare yourself to everyone else. Everyone is different. I'm doing the same as you, sticking to 1 cup, using MFP and staying at 1000 cal.. Don't be hard on yourself!
  18. It takes longer to digest solid foods than liquids. I never liked yogurt either until I tried Oikos Key Lime with pecans crushed on top, mmmmm, my new fave. Maybe you need to speak with a nutritionist so they can help you choose a plan that works around your diet? Best wishes on your journey!
  19. The bloated feeling is your new full. Don't push it!
  20. You're doing great! It could take several fills to get enough restriction to keep you satisfied with what you're eating, but keep on this course. When you get hungry between meals drink a lot of fluids, also try to keep yourself busy, it does help. Keep it up !
  21. MD, did she put you on just liquids for a couple of days? I did 48 hrs liquids, 2 days mushies and added back solids very slowly. My band did not get angry until 4 days later. Work that protein and drink that water!
  22. Sounds great! I had the 6mths supervised diet and it gave me plenty of time to study the does & don'ts of the LBS. Don't worry, excitement & nerves are all part of the process. Very excited for you!
