  1. Did your Surgeon not give you any instructions? Everybody's Dr does things differently. I didn't even have to do a pre-op. Some are just protein shakes, calorie counting & Atkins.
  2. You have come to the right place for support, so welcome! Jump in anytime . I've been hanging here for 9mths now and have made some great supportive friends and you will too. Best of luck on your re commitment! BeeHealthy!
  3. LOL, No straws after surgery. Told you there's a lot to learn.
  4. If you go to emilybites.com or Skinnytaste.com you can pin to pinterest right from there, or on Pinterest just type in emilybites or skinnytaste that will get you there too.
  5. Congratulations to you too! Going to be a very exciting New Year.
  6. They're all over the place. Mine is left just below ribcage.
  7. Welcome! Lassie gave you great advice about learning all you can before surgery. There's a lot that the Drs. don't tell you, like "Bandsters Hell",never heard of it until coming here. Hang out here and ask questions. Beethin!
  8. Boy, do I remember the dreaded sneeze. At first I sneezed every time I had something to eat, but that did go away. It won't be long and you'll be feeling like yourself, only better again.
  9. Yep, one pill is better than three. I'm expecting the same thing with my cholesterol pill. Cute PJ's!
  10. Congratulations on your upcoming Band date! Best advice I could give you is to learn all there is to know about the band. Starting here is a great place. I hung out here for 7mths before my banding and I learned more here than anywhere else. Also I'd start practicing LB rules, so you can be use to things before surgery. Try different Protein shakes, so after surgery you have something you like. Post often and ask all the questions you need answers to. BeeHealthy
  11. Congratulations over half way there! I keep looking at my ticker waiting to be half way. Keep up the great job! Beethin!
  12. When were you banded?
  13. You should start practicing some LB rules before your surgery, so they might become easier. Eating off smaller plate taking smaller bites chewing until it becomes mush drinking lots & lots of Water Also start trying Protein shakes to see what you like, everyone's taste buds are different too. LOL Be sure to ask a lot of questions
  14. Welcome McTeacher! Everyone loses at a different rate according to their size and age, but Drs. like us to lose 1-2 lbs per week. Of Course some lose more and some lose less. I started dieting before I got my band 2mths ago , so it looks like I've lost a lot according to my ticker, but at my 6wk follow up I was down 36 lbs and at 43 lbs today. It's all about following the LB rules and sticking to what your Dr orders for you. Stick around so everyone can get to know you. You'll find a lot of support, knowledge & inspiration here. BeeHealthy!
  15. Welcome Mz Bunny, Your friend sent you to the right place. Lots of inspiration, knowledge & support here. Great bunch of people. Glad you have someone that's been there and done that, it will help you a lot and so will we. Glad to have you and post often. BeeHealthy
  16. Check out Threads under "food & Nutrition" and "Recipes" a ton of recipes there. Beethin!
  17. Sorry about that. A few years ago my insurance (Aetna) would not pay for WLS. Does your company just not cover it at all, or you don't qualify?
  18. You're absolutely right! We had a forum member a few months ago was cut open and then denied a LB. The liver is like handling Jello when its all fatty.
  19. I too had 3out of 5 incisions that the sutures had to be pulled out b/c of not dissolving. Did take a little longer for those incisions to heal.
  20. I'm very happy for you Missy! All my best to you both
  21. Bahahaha! My bad! Guess I didn't catch the accent. On my cell phone and don't catch these things, sorry. I'm surprised not getting more responses, a lot of ppl on here from UK. My folks from Coventry.
  22. I have a problem with having my bra on as soon as I walk threw the front door.lol Do whatever is comfortable to you!
