First appointment was today!

Recommended Posts

I had my first appointment at my surgeons office today which wound up lasting three hours! Although I did not meet the surgeon, All of the staff I met were incredibly nice! I met with the receptionist the nurse practitioner the nutritionist and The girl in charge of insurance. I am thrilled because I found out that there is no diet requirement prior to getting the lap band through my insurance! I have eight items on my to do list prior to getting my surgery. So depending on how quickly I can get them done that will determine when I get the surgery! I am so excited and a little nervous also.

Good luck. I had to jump through so many hoops I almost gave up many times. I even back out of the surgery weeks before the scheduled date. Just to start all over again a year later! Lol. Hang in there & you'll be glad you did!

Sounds great!

I had the 6mths supervised diet and it gave me plenty of time to study the does & don'ts of the LBS.

Don't worry, excitement & nerves are all part of the process.

Very excited for you!

Congratulations! Try and get all items out of the way. Don't have your insurance company in a holding pattern. Ask the doctor/ dietitian your questions or as here.

Best wishes

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
