  1. 1. I eat 1000 calories a day, approx.a) its what works best for me I can stay full on 1000 cal. 2. Don't worry about carbs, other than if they're good carbs. watch protein at every meal and snack 3. no special diet. I follow Drs instructions 4. I don't eat exercise calories b/c right now I do not exercise that much. Waiting on knee replacement 5.Only eat when I'm hungry, approved by Dr. 6. I make sure to drink a minimum of 64 oz daily. You didn't ask that, but I feel its just as important
  2. Did you read my spotlight section of LBT newsletter? Traded food addiction for LBT addiction.lol
  3. Maybe we can meet one day.
  4. sxybk, did you surgeon give you a diet to follow? If so, you need to follow that. If they didn't you need to call them and ask for instruction. When you're first banded, everyone goes threw different phases, liquids, mushies and solid food. I wonder where your Dr wants you?
  5. Wow!!! Congratulations, you do look amazing.
  6. I don't know if I would call it cheating, but it is a bad habit to start. As you move farther into your journey are you going to lick the chocolate off a donut, but not eat the donut. Right now, you need to follow your Drs instructions. Would they ok you sucking the favor off of doritos? You will always have temptations put in front of you and how you handle them will tell if you will be successful or not. Ask yourself, how bad do I want this surgery to work? Do you want it bad enough to stay away from crap for awhile? Only you can answer these questions. I hope & pray you want it so bad, that you are willing to tell yourself no. I want my health, not crap. Not trying to be harsh, just stating the facts. Be in it, to win it!

yes, everyones Dr does say different things. Hence the advice you hear alot of " follow your Drs instructions". There's never too many questions or any "stupid" questions. Glad you have your list ready for your Dr. You will do wonderfully.
  8. WooHOO! Congratulations! Get Well Soon!
  9. There are some very wise ppl here and they are all here to support you, including me. I have gotten probable 95% of my support here. Lovethenewme is a great source of inspiration and she speaks from experience. The biggest thing WLS did for me, was make me see (finally) how I was using food for comfort. I thought I just like the taste of things and just didn't know when to say when. But the LB made me see 1) no, I am not hungry, its in my head 2) how I'm doing it now, makes me feel good. It is a learning process, but you can do it. When I was first banded, I cleaned so many closet, drawers, and cabinets, just to do something else, but think of the food I was missing.lol I've only be banded since Oct and have already cleaned out my closet and dresser drawers about 4 times and giving clothes away to Goodwill b/c they are too big, is a great feeling.Beats eating and feeling terrible about myself. This is doable, just don't give up on yourself. We're here for you. Find your WANT power, if you want it, you will do it. Wishing you the best
  10. Good or bad weigh in, as long as you know you did right,is all that matters. I've been stuck at a plateau for 3wks, but I know I'm doing it right and the scale will move in time. All in God's time! Have a wonderful week and may your weigh in bless your soul. Love you too and give those kids a big hug for me.
  11. Rosie, you are already ahead of the game. You're going to do great. You're asking questions , reading post and gaining knowledge and like they say "knowledge is power".
  12. Good for you, smoking, soda and sweets. Sounds like you want to get healthy. It is hard at first, but after getting the sweets out of your system, you won't even miss them. Think of the money you're saving by not smoking, woohoo. Wishing you a success journey to health.
  13. When it comes to drinking soda, whether diet or regular, you have to ask yourself, Am I having WLS for better health? and if so, What is in soda that is so healthy?
  14. I definitly saw myself in this post, from binging, starving to not being able to eat with certian ppl. Great writing, Jean! Thanks for your insight.
  15. Yep, personal choice. I also like hot Chai tea also. Any warm drink helps. My Dr. does not allow caffeine.
  16. I think we misunderstood you. I think you were saying, you're glad you can still get pregnant with a lapband, right? Not that you are pregnant.
  17. I agree with Draven, you have an excellent support group right here. I would not be where I am today, had it not been for the support, knowledge and inspiration I receive here. I was featured in this months newsletter and what I said was true, I replaced my food addiction for LBT.com addiction. Its an addiction I can live with. You can do this! You did it once, you'll do it again! I encourage you to do like Hely said and track your calories, I use MyFitnessPal. Eat your minimum 60 gr Protein a day and have protein in every meal. Drink your 64oz Water. And of course, hang out here. Good luck
  18. Luka Beth is correct in a large majority of bansters have a tight band in the morning. Me being one of them. I drink Diet hot chocolate to relax my band. Breathing is a different issue.
  19. I don't think even a tight band would effect your breathing. I have heard of colds and sinus infections tightening your band, but not the other way around. Time to call your Dr or use your inhaler or both. It is allergy season and maybe that is effecting your asthma? Good luck and hope you get this cleared up soon. A tight band hurts in your upper chest and its hard to eat or drink anything.
  20. Yep, liquids until the swelling goes down. Being we are not Drs, you should give them a call and see what they advice. After all, they make the big bucks.
  21. Welcome to the forum! Glad you found us. I think you will find this a great support forum. Nice peeps from just getting started to those at goal and everything in between. Post often, so we can get to know you. Good luck on your journey!
  22. Keep calling until they see you or find someone for you to see. Thats ridiculous if they think you should wait 2wks. Make some noise! Even if you have to show up at office and do it from waiting room.
  23. walking moves the gas faster. Walk, walk, walk. Dr told me to get up every 2 hrs and walk.
  24. Well it seems kinda late to be "not sure". lol BF wants more kids, he needs to make you his wife, so kids can have a momma and daddy with the same last name.lol j/s
