  1. Dr Oz says losing weight does increase the size. If Dr Oz says it, it must be true. I'd google it, but no telling what would pop up, no pun intended.
  2. My port flipped completely over, no pain at all, only way we found out was couldn't di a fill and fluro showed it upside down. Had revision Jan 236 and all things good. Try not to worry !
  3. Thats to bad, sorry. I was doing all the required stuff at the same time as supervised diet and had all my paperwork sent in the day of last visit and got approved in 1wk to the day. I know when we finally make up our mind about doing this, we tend to get in a hurry, but everything will work out. Try to practice LB eating for the next month, and you'll be that much farther ahead. Good Luck!
  4. Thoughts & prayers for peace and quick recovery and great success, George
  5. I definitely not a "hater". Just wanted to wish you a great weekend. Good & bad, everyone has a lesson for us.
  6. Donna, I know from experience that stress can also tighten up that bad. I once couldn't hardly eat for 2 days and it was nothing but stress. Also I agree, do liquids and mushies until it clears. Once I feel like a lump in my chest, quit. Do not take one more bite, ever.lol js
  7. I too, loss weight from even before surgery and like Missy, I religously track calories & protein and drink my water.
  8. Sweetie, try to relax . If you look at any weight loss surgery, you will see you can gain weight back with any of them. My sister had gastric bypass, lost a lot of weight, didn't fix her head and gained almost all of it back. It's all about changing your habits. Not using food to medicate yourself. Following your Drs plan. No matter which surgery you choose, its going to take work. Good luck
  9. Thoughts & prayers for a quick recovery and great success. Yes, nerves are normal, but keep your eye on the prize. A healthier, happier you. Keep us posted.
  10. Here in Florida they do that , plus underweight kids. They send the notice to the parents. My grandson got a notice that he was underweight. My daughter had a fit.lol
  11. Welcome, glad you found us. Great job on your WL, congrats! Stick around and share your journey.
  12. LOL, I was going to suggest the same thing. Great article from Jean.
  13. That's awesome, congratulations!
  14. That is a great attitude! Sounds like you have "want power".
  15. M1 is right. Right now you have to depend on your want power, not willpower. How bad do you want this? Ask yourself that before you put something in your mouth, how bad do I want this.
  16. Like you, I would be thinking WTH!!!LOL Just go along with the idea and this is probably true, he was copping a feel on a sexy broad. I be jealous!
  17. Everytime I read your articles I think "oh that's good". But this article was one of your best (until the next one, lol). I truly hope everyone reads this. Thanks again Jean!

After spending a lot of time on LBT and now having some experiences under my belt, I have come to the conclussion that the LB is like a game of Chutes & Ladders. We start our surgery and we're going along and climb a few LADDERS by losing weight and then we might do something not so smart, get stuck, not enough protein or water, injuries, sickness etc... and we hit the CHUTES, back to shakes, rethink how and what we're eating. The best part is there is always a winner, as long as you don't give up the game. Just my thoughts
  19. I'M IN ONELANDER, YEAH!!!!!!! 199 LBS this am. I want to thank my LBT family. A lot of you have been here for me from my very first day. You taught me, you inspired me and you support me through thick and thin. Thank you, doesn't seem to be enough, but it's all I have, my undying gratitude!
  20. WTG Girlfriend! Great post, we are all different and no comparison.
  21. My husband has loved me 40 yrs overweight, I don't think its going to change. At one of my support meetings that fact was disclosed and I like Karen, believe it wasn't strong to begin with. I know a lot of woman who stay with their partner b/c of their weight. Thinking they could never do better. After losing the weight, different story.
  22. You really shouldn't do that. You're given a liquid diet for a reason, not for torture. When you put solids in your sutured stomach, the churning of digestion could do some damage. You need to call your Dr and talk to them about being to hungry on just liquids, maybe they can work something else out for you. Good luck!
  23. You are a lucky one to be able to drink that much from the start. You must have minimal swelling b/c that is usually the problem on our first week. Don't worry about your calories right now. That will come later. Just keep doing what your Dr order and try not to worry, which I know thats hard b/c we all did worry in the beginning. We're scared of getting this wrong and failing yet another time. You're doing great, congratulations and welcome to the banded side!
  24. LOL, yes phone don't let you do a whole lot. Tablets a little better, but nothing like the old pc to get the job done.
