I FINALLY understand "bandsters hell!"
Hate to burst your bubble, but it could take months to get you in the zone. Maybe you'll be the lucky one, who doesn't need much. But most take multiple fills to get there. Welcome to "Bandsters Hell" Good thing is, its worth it!

Sour Taste in Mouth
You're probably still quite swollen, so I can understand the problems you are having. I can't speak on the plication b/c I don't have that. Are you laying down right after eating? That is a no no.Eating late at night? Maybe eating to much? Best thing to do is call your surgeon and discuss this with them. It might be as easy as smaller amounts, more frequently. Good luck

Sour Taste in Mouth
That is common right after surgery, but it doesn't last long. I've heard many a ppl complain about that on this forum. Congrats on banding!

Food log
My Fitness Pal here too, it links with my Fitbit. Love the scanner feature, scan barcode and logs nutritional data.

I'm so angry with myself...
You are never going to get that Thanksgiving kind of full. The LB is a whole different dish of fish. yes, if you are eating until you feel full, you are going to get sick and hurt everytime. Don't get down on yourself. This is a huge learning process. I know ppl at goal that still make mistakes. Give it time! Measure your alloted amount until you know for sure what that looks like. Eat slow, 1min between swallowing and next bite, which means put your fork down. Stop at 20 mins whether you're done or not. Those are the LB rules. Good luck

Nine days post surgery and port poking me
It took me months also. I was feeling the same way, thinking I had to live with it the rest of my life. Don't even know its there now, unless I feel for it. I enjoy grossing my kids out by having them feel it,lol The little things in life that tickle me.

1cup of food? Seems like a lot?
just stick to your Drs oders and you'll be fine. Plus it goes threw the band as you eat, thats why you have to eat sloww, so it doesn't back up and get stuck.

Barium Esophogram (hope i spelled it right) lol
Glad everything is well with your band and how exciting to be able to start again. Best wishes for success!

<------ Meet my daughter, she's 58 and was band within the last year. No she's not really my daughter, a great LB friend, but everyone thinks she's my daughter. I think she'd tell you, yes, go for it.

How bad is the pain after surgery?
Of course you are, we all do. Everyone is so different with hiw they feel after surgery. Some come out with no big deal and others are "WTH did I do to myself" For me the first 48hrs were a little rough, nothing that pain meds didn't help and everyday after that got easier and easier. I was out working in my garden by the 5th day, but getting tired lasted a little longer. I don't work, plus I was 56yo so you have to take that into consideration. What I can say, its all worth it. I feel so much better. Best thing to do is follow your Drs instructions and get up and walk as much as possible the minute you come out of recovery. I've had a few surgeries and thats the best thing you can do for yourself. Sip Water and move. Best wishes on your journey to better health!

eating out of a measuring cup????
Soft things like yogurt, bean, cottage cheese etc I use a measuring cup and sometimes eat out of said cup.lol Solid Protein I go by the deck of cards size, that we were taught in nutrition class. I do keep track of calories and protein. I hope when I've had enough practice I will just be able to eyeball it. Portions have always been my problem, but doing everything to relearn portion control. Go job on measuring your portions, keep it up!

Has anyone noticed the Pizza Hut ad on the right of your screen?
Well then, you had nothing to confess then. You ate like a normal person. Good job!

Has anyone noticed the Pizza Hut ad on the right of your screen?
LOL, busted As long as you didn't eat the whole pie,lol

I had the sx, but it is all about his diet - venting
You can not compare yourself against anyone else. We are all "individuals". Especially men are totally different from women and they will lose weight faster. Just stick to your LB instructions and don't worry about him. Log your calories, get in your protein and water and worry about you. Even though you had surgery together, it is still seperate individual journeys.

Heart burn
I'd call your Dr and discuss this with them. There are many medications that could help you.

Would You Have Weight Loss Surgery Again?
Definitly yes! Pretty much ditto what Lovethenewme stated. Easter last year praying for death to come because of the pain I was in. One year later, I feel so good. I have my life back. It is not an easy fix, but dedication and work, but well worth it. My sis had gastric bypass which takes just as much dedication and work and there is failure in that too, if you don't change your lifestyle. After losing her weight, she has now gained it back and became an alcoholic to boot. I am so excited about my future! I would do it again in a heart beat. I would also come back to LBT.com for my support too.

Removing Stitches
So what your saying, is you're not going in for post-op visit? Most of us see our Surgeon 2 wks post op. Also most of us have had desolving stitches. Don't think I would let him, unless he is a Dr. IMHO

Be Careful What you Wish for...
For newbies, you are absolutely correct. It's been 4wks since my last fill and after no restriction for months, I got kinda lazy. Time to play by the rules!

Be Careful What you Wish for...
LOL, Just today was trying to figure out how many calories of 240 were left? Bad part was it was bumper to bumper traffic, couldn't get over to pull off and knew everyone parked around me could see what was going on. There's no way to PB discreetly in a traffic jam.lol

Be Careful What you Wish for...
I hear ya brother. After my last fill, everything has changed. Gotta eat slower, smaller and more aware. I was just telling some LB friends, I've learned eating in my car equals hurling in my car. Have a stash of papertowels and plastic bags.
