Four and a half months in...

  • Popular Post

I had my surgery on 11/12/12 and so far I am down 65 lbs.... The first 20 lbs fell off in the first week and a half!!! I am really loving the results so far, I have gotten to a plateau because I have dropped so much so quickly that I don't want to lose too fast and have hanging skin.... I just found this page and I am going to enjoy talking to everyone here and hearing and sharing stories!!!

Congratulations!

I was banded 12/17, down 33lbs.

Welcome to lap band talk!

Welcome to the forum! Glad you found us. I think you will find this a great support forum. Nice peeps from just getting started to those at goal and everything in between.

Post often, so we can get to know you.

Good luck on your journey!

Great Job. I can only hope to be so lucky. My surgery was Jan 14th, and I am 38 pounds down. Keep up the good work.

What are you eating and how often?

Thanks everyone!!!! I really look forward to this forum because it is so hard to get to the classes with my schedule.... Protein is the biggest factor in my diet, I usually have a protein smoothie with bananas and strawberries for breakfast then for lunch a Dannon's lite and fit Greek yogurt(cherry because its the only 1 I like) and a sugar free pudding or applesauce, as a mid day snack I will have a protein bar with a SF pudding or applesauce, and for dinner either chicken, pork chops, or turkey burger(plain) with string beans and mashed taters, for desert it is usually fruit with SF or fat free cool whip.... I try to keep a water jug with me at all times!!!!

Its great to hear about what you're eating...very motivating. Do you work out much!? I'm so excited to hear that you can lose so much so quickly. I know slow and steady wins the race but an initial big loss must help with the motivation.

Thank you!!!! I do when I get the chance.... I work full time and go to school full time to be a professional photographer so I get exercise when I'm taking pictures and when I am doing school work I put weights on my ankles and do leg lifts!!!! The big loss does help a lot with the motivation because I want to get to my goal of 160- at most 165..... And I have a LONG way to go!!!! My total weight loss will be 190 lbs when I hit my final goal.... But for right now I make small goals of 25 lbs!!!!

Thank you!!!! I think I may post my before images and now images.... I didn't even think about that!!!

Great idea...would love to see some before and after!

This is a collage of before and now images!!!!

Wow...what an awesome change in you. Just excellent!! Way to go you!!!

You eat just like I do :D Congrats on your success!

I was banded 11-28-2012 and I've lost 66 lbs. I'm ecstatic!! My losing has slowed down too, but I knew it would and I don't mind. I'm an entirely different person!

I'm also happy to be on this forum. Its the best by far!!

Thank you so much!!!! It has been an interesting road finding foods that work and don't work and then having to go back to stage 1 a few times because even yogurt would get stuck!!!! But honestly after YEARS of battling with my weight the band is the best thing that has ever happened to me(besides my husband)!!!!
