My surgery date is for July 7th. I'm on day 3 of my pre-op diet and sooooo hungry at time, but OK at other times. I'm excited and scared at the same time.
I'm brand new to this site, just signed up today. Hopefully I'll get some great feedback on my journey to a healthier me.

I am scheduled for July 2nd and I am scared...I just keep thinking...it will be o.k. I have not told any family members...only my husband knows...he is very supportive and I love him for that! I don't want to worry my mother because she has soooo many health issues and anyone else really doesn't matter...LOL

Sorry for your loss. The surgeons in Mexico are very experienced and fatalities are few and far between. Best wishes with whatever and whoever you chose. I'll be sleeved in 10 days. Mexico here I come, God place your protective spirit over me and all of your children stepping out on faith. Amen.

I got sleeved on June 7 by Dr. Kelly. I'm an MD. I think that qualifies my opinion.
If he had a drug problem, he got over it. That, in my opinion, is a tremedous achievement. I can assure you that he is not using drugs now.
I had the opportunity meet his daughter and talked extensively with his wife Cecy and his coordinator, Omar. I also spoke with him on several occasions, of course.
The hospital he was using wanted an exclusive on his surgical cases, which in turn would increase the cost of surgeries. We had our fluroscopy (leak test) at that hospital. I did not pick up that he was persona non grata at all. I was very pleased with the hospital he is using now.
Coordinators! Give me a break! Loosing a $2000 comission per case would motivate them to bend the truth to their favor. Don't you think?
Yes, there was a death. That is a surgical risk. I knew about it before being operated on, and I still chose Dr Ramos Kelly.< /p>
To this day, I continue to recomend Dr. Ramos Kelly to members of this forum, and to my patients.
I hope this helps to clear up the slanderous comments about this Team.

Don't base your decision on what the coordinators tell you. They are paid to only promote their doctors.
Do your research.
Choose a doctor based on their experience, bedside manner, how they interact with patients and their family.
In the end, ALL THAT MATTERS is the person holding the scalpel blade.

I agree. You should contact Dr. Kelly’s office directly and report their coordinators actions immediately! Coordinators are there to make your experience as easy and painless as possible, not to put doubt and worry in your head! Sounds a little like a begrudged coordinator to me and she’s trying to get even by badmouthing!
I CAN TELL YOU FIRST HAND FROM EXPERIENCE that I was sleeved at Jerusalem Hospital by Dr. Almanza on May 31st and would recommend them to EVERYONE! Took excellent care of me and the 8 other ladies there at the time! I have had no problems or regrets at all!

Hi there, sorry that it has taken me a while to reply- was out of town on business and consequently offline for most of the past few days. I honestly don't know who the surgeon was. Mostly because my sister's friend did the whole I'm doing this and not really telling anyone- so the details are a little sketchy. Havind said that, I am not sure if I did know that I would feel comfortable saying because I know less than nothing about the girls medical history and given the fact that ALL surgery has risk, I feel really strongly that I could be unfairly maligning a surgeon. I know this isn't a great answer and I'm sorry if I've caused any alarm for others on the site- it wasn't my intent. Thanks to all who offered information on surgeons in the US. It is very appreciated.

It will be fine. I was just sleeved on June 7th and Louise was gone. Melissa and her daughter Heather are very good. I am very happy with Dr. Almanza. I am planning to go back next year to have some plastics done with Dr Lara. I am10 days post- op today and I feel very good. I am down 16 pounds from my surgery date. Good luck to all of you. Yeah...having the munchies would really suck!! Start slow

Any smoking post surgery is a really bad idea. Increased risk of clots, lung infections and poor wound healing due to decreased circulation. Wait till you are recovered, it isn't worth the high.

I checked the mail on my way home and there waiting for me was my passport and my order of Unjury sample pack! What a way to end a long, stressful day! This is becoming more real for me... just a few more weeks!

Started my liquid diet today and woke up with a cold I hope it's short lived and doesn't effect my surgery date.

Starting pre op diet today. Buckling up for the ride!

I had to wear them for ten days. Though I was told never to go over the knee so they were below the knee socks. I understand they can't be cut at ankle as they need to ensure circulation around the ankle and foot as well as lower leg. I wore socks over mine so they didn't get too dirty.
Hand wash and dry naturally. Do not tumble dry! To put on, i recommend using a plastic bag over the foot and then they go on easy, you then remove the bag through the open toe.

Well hopefully we will be good.. I will get my sleeve on August.10 anybody else.???

I cancelled the surgery in april due to nerves. I don't regret that I cancelled. I had become so worked up and was not up to the challenge in that frame of mind. I needed more time to get in bed with the idea. I did have the surgery last Thursday. I am four days post op. Things have gone very well.
Once I had asked all the questions I could ask on the forum I decided to look inward and get off the Internet. Although this forum is a very supportive environment, i found the ups and downs of various postings were taking me on a roller coaster ride and I needed to find some inner peace. I just recently got back on to help with my recovery. Be kind and patient with yourself.

I agree with Karen, if not for looking forward to the surgery I'd be in the cookie isle getting chips ahoy chocolate chunk cookies....or in the ice cream isle getting snicker ice cream bars. Of course having my boyfriend with when shopping helps....he pulls me away....lol. Now, with less than a month to go I barely think about those foods, THANK GOD! But yes, I do have moments where I think i'm a failure for not doing this on my own. for asking myself if there's something wrong with me because my family is so opposed to this. But I just remind myself why i'm doing this and it passes.
