  1. Thanks Legster....Never too much info. for me......I am one who always wants more info. than most are willing to offer! lol Another question...If you are not really restricted...what keeps you eating such small portions, and such great choices? Willpower? This I would not truly understand, as I have never had willpower for more than ..maybe a week at a time(always followed by three weeks of pure failure). Funny? but true!
  2. I too have heard of him... but he is not here full time.?.Do they do surgery here in Springfield or KS? What about fills, and follow up or emergency? I was a patient of Dr. Edwards...and really love him! My Mom is finishing up her insurance requirements this week, and then the approval wait is on. She will also be going with Dr. Edwards. I set an appointment for a fill today!!!!!!! It will not be until Dec.! I spoke with him about this, and he said "very soon they will be adding another person, and more time to do more fills". I hope he was telling truth! That will be great to get in when we want/need to! That is the very worst thing about this office, is currently the wait for a fill is 3+ weeks. This should be corrected very soon. I guess I knew this already so I should have called a week ago! My bad! Tabitha- how many fills so far? And how are they doing? You sounded pretty disappointed about getting started on losing...any better now? Legster- your ticker shows great progress... what can/do you typically eat in a day? Barb??????? Bad-sheepy?????? theCapn- as far as I know, the support groups are all available to anyone, with the one exception. I hope to take my mom to one this coming Monday... Anyone going to a meeting this coming Monday..?????? If so, when and where???
  3. My thoughts, and prayers are with you on this recovery too!!!! Keep us posted on how you are doing/feeling! Take care.
  4. I was shocked to see these are your before pics...I would love for those arms to be my after pics! I know we each feel differently about our own issues, and some have more to lose..etc. You are beautiful, and I am quite frankly- envious -of how great your arms look now!!! If that can be improved, I am impressed already! Good luck and great health to you!
  5. 5/6 jeans :omg: ......... you are now one of "those", :eyebrows: cute/sexxxxy,:Banane20: tiny girls I hate :waytogo: ...and that is, with out even knowing them. I know "they" could be someone wonderful  ...but my own issues with weight, cause me to just "hate" them! :puke: Now you are them!! :nervous  ANY CHANCE NEXT YEAR, I CAN BE THEM TOO???? :biggrin1: :Banane20: lol Disclaimer::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :peace:Peace- just in case, I don't really hate anyone.
  6. "NEXT STEP"... support group for lap-band and by-pass patients only, no support people or visitors, if you are at least 6 months post -op. I think 4th Monday...at surgery center class room 4a--if you get that far out and want to go, check for correct info. I have only been to one group meeting but would like to go more often. How is restriction after first fill.....and 2 fills? EVERYONE? It took four fills for me!
  7. Diane--- I do have dial up...could you post your pics NOW...so I can see them by the 8th? hahahhahahahhahah Just eager...and waiting for visual update! The arm rubbing comes to mind at bedtime...then hubby says..quit moving around, I can't sleep! I wish I could get it in my head earlier! I would like to try it regularly...even if it sounds like work.
  8. 6 weeks after surgery are for healing -- not for weightloss! After healing, High protein/low carb diet with exercise should be a daily thing. And, life with a band is about getting help by restriction....get that band filled properly. You should be able to eat...but only a tiny, tiny meal..... three times a day! There are books and much online info. to help out (even with little help from Band Center). Sorry they seem to have banded you and then "fed you to the wolves"!!!
  9. Think I could "sucker" my hubby into saving thousands??????? He could rub my arms everyday!!!! then we would know if it really works!!! lol....I don't think he would be so supportive! hahaha hehehe I may try it ...sounds like work to me...and I am allergic to work!
  10. -wow- Congratulations, I know will be in order.... You will get that 10# gone NO PROB...right? My weight drops more significantly, if I do any "lifting exercises" at all. Even with 3# to 5# weights! Sometimes/some exercises I use 8# weights! Do you do any lifting in addition to the walking? Sorry to hear about the pain after the extra long walk. Good luck and great health to you.
  11. The whole day there.... that was because I needed out and away from my house/family for the whole day!!! lol Some parts were really worth it...some were kinda' boring! Bad_Sheepy....I heard from an aquaintance that you are familiar with... her name is Debbie....I visit with her online all the time. Do you know who I'm refering to? I would have loved to have met you at the symposium! Anyone gotten a fill lately? how far out are they booking appointments now? Maybe I should call now, if I want a fill just before Christmas?????(or just after new years??? lol, this is the old me talking hehehehe)
  12. Back to work full time? Back to pain pills full time too? I am wondering if I remember correctly...was it you Diane, that posted a pic somewhere of your arms? After a massage technique, to reduce excess skin? If it was you, could you please update me on your progress with that ..or did you stop...any more pics of this? The one I saw was very interesting...and I would like to see or hear more. Thank you for being soooo very inspiring!!!
  13. I stayed the whole day at the symposium---it was so nice to run into -Tabitha and Barb there. Any one got the 2nd fill yet? I have had 4 so far. Ohhh I wish I could eat a dinner roll with honey butter!!! Sure do miss that. Are you all still able/willing to eat bread?

2 TATS right now... 1st one....vine, rose buds, and the vine turns to heart shape/on my right foot top... this one was to memorialize a pregnancy loss second trimester. 2nd one.... the day of my first fill...a huge butterfly with eyes in the wings, with a vine growing from it/right side calf about 10-12 inches long, and 5 inches wide!....this one represents my change and growth... THIS IS MY YEAR OF CHANGE!!! 2007
  15. Hi everyone.... Great to hear from all of you. UN5-3051...long time no post... yes to the symposium question. I have been going through so much lately, the Symposium sounded like a day just for me! I sure did need a day just for me. Will you be there as well? I had to deal with DH getting surgery for a kidney stone last Sat. and Mazie's Birthday and her Party are all this week- But, "Heck or high water"-I am going! Great to hear from you...let me know if I may run it to you there Sat. 2bthinagn.... The sweet spot will come... I am so close to my sweet spot, I can feel it... My restriction changes so much throughout the month, I am afraid even a little fill will be perfect some times and over the top at other times. I think if I can drop 20# more ..then I will get another fill. That will put me at -100#... Hoping that will be by the new year.
  16. Quite is right! ........or wrong?:cry Hello-everyone!!! My "little baby girl", Mazie, is turning 2 years old this week!! We are having a party for her :happybday: with ice cream cake and everything. (Hope I can resist all but, a tiny piece.) She is growing up so fast, she no longer gets a "binky" now that she is a big girl! :baby: Moving on to the terrible twos...:devious! :clap2: Please post everything and anything, to keep us updated on what's going on. Tabitha- when is your 1st/2nd fill scheduled- you already had a fill? How was the experience? restriction? Still dancing? The occasional after work cocktail going down OK?:cocktail: Jill- update? fill schedule? Any problem foods yet? Legster- what do you do for exercise? Where are you as far as fills go? My info. is there in the signature. I'm always curious about the differences with each person. I know I had to keep going back for fills -- I wish I didn't wait so long for some. I would wonder if I really needed a fill. That is until' this last one, then I knew I should have been going sooner. After my last fill instead of my usual week or weeks, of asking myself "do I need another fill, I am eating less than before?", :hungry: I was happy to say "oh yea, now that is restriction... I can eat but, it's so little!". I think if I was wondering about enough fill- I needed more- until' I was no longer wondering! Any way great to visit with you all and share my experiences-looking forward to hearing more from you! :ranger: Good night-Kimberly
  17. Diane- we all, would like "to do it all" all of the time- please for the sake of you surgery expense, and success... slow down and take it easy! Go stir crazy if you have to! Let the whole word become a mess, it can all be taken care of later/after you! AND ...I can relate to dial up! Slow speed... can you use those two words together? I will be slowly waiting for your pics to appear myself! lol PS...My DH just blew my 2008-2009 budget for Plastic Surgery... Sat. 10-13-07 he had kidney stone surgery ...I think about $20,000.00 worth, for a one hour procedure! Ohhhh, poor me oh my!
  18. Thanks for this notice! I have been wondering!
  19. Hope to hear real good news from the visit with doc!
  20. :gluck:Thinking of you and sending my prayers! I know it's about you.... but, I... just... can't... wait!!!! :bounce: You might think I'm crazy  , but I will be checking in early, and :eyebrows: late, to hear from you.:spy: Please don't do a"spydr" or a "FoodStampChamp" routine on us... get PS and keep us waiting and worried with no postings! You will be great, and back to laundry in no time, one way or another..:crutch: Take care and get well soon! Here's to you-congratulations...:cocktail: ....Kimberly/AKA maziemommy
  21. Hi Rain ... I think it is up to you to join us...Welcome!!! How is DH doing? Was he banded in April? I was April 2-2007. My sister is 6ft. tall, that brings it's own challenges, right? Keep us posted, your progress seems to be great this far!
  22. FSC.... are U there? Wondering if all is well? We all want the ups and downs of PS, and everything else in life we all deal with. Please post even a short note. Thinking of you often, Kimberly/AKA maziemommy
  23. PCGIRL... I think Dr.Edwards is terrific. May I ask what exactly made you choose to go elsewhere? I have always been interested in the good, and not so good about people involved with my health care. Are there issues at his office that may cause me to think differently about recieving care from them as a team or individuals? Is you "new" doc going to provide your aftercare? Good luck, and I am looking forward to getting new information. Keep us posted on your journey!!!
