I was told that I have a 10cm size band, and that it will hold about 5ml/cc total.... after fill #2, I now have a fill amount of 1.6ml/cc. Good luck to all!

I am only in contact , regularly, with one other. I hear people at his office sometimes, and they seem to be of every age. 19-70.... I am 35 and wish my Mom would get a band at 59. Are you going to be close to home with your doc? I really am glad I got to be close to home, as I don't travel well!

They do have a couple of support groups here in town-(now it's considered a city-so I'm told..ha ha ha). I have not yet attended any of them. I have heard some say they enjoy the groups. Are you coming back to town? I left in 1993 came back, and left again in 1994. Bought a house here and moved back, for good, in 1997. I guess I just can't stay away. I had always heard, that if you are from here... and you leave.... you will be back.... now I tend to believe that. When do you have your surgery? I was 4-2-07- going for my 2nd fill 5-31-07(now it's today). Do you have a pre-op diet?

Pre-op was very difficult for me too! The most difficult I would say. I am getting ready for my second fill (tomorrow)... hoping for some real restriction. I have a long way to go to even get close to the word healthy!! Linda-17# is great so far... I know it's very hard but keep it up, you are doing great! and faithmd- I could have never lost 44# alone, and still haven't gotten there with my band, yet! I was banded 4-2-07 first fill 5-17-07 and going again tomorrow-wish me luck! Thinking of you all on this journey with me.

OK my previous post was before I read this last page...I'm getting a grasp on my hormones now.... Wade-I am trying to find "other" things to occupy my time. I too am a very additive person. I am trying to find other things to become addicted to... like making better choices, and being more physically active. I know sounds boring and wholesome, but can be fun and entertaining too, mostly healthier. Kity- Sounds like we may have something from the past in common... Crazy how things from long ago can affect you today, just like it was yesterday.(for me anyway). Just like Dee- I can't believe how much of my life has/did/does revolve around food-eating it-seeing it- getting it- fixing it- finding it- thinking about it- preparing for it- waiting for it....you see my point. I have a lot of changes ahead if I am going to be healthy, happy, and thinner! Good luck to each of you/us on this journey!

What is this AP Band? Alexandra- good luck with band #2. I hope you have great success with this one!

stacey-IMHO-I think this could pose serious issues, for you and your band. Do you have any medical training in your background? I thought that "eye saline" has more chemicals than what is used medically as sterile saline. What would happen if you get a leak and your body absorbs this????? I personally can not afford to experiment on my band, I would rather pay as I go for fills than to pay for another band.

Do you still live in Mesquite TX?

Mesquite, TX should have some doc. close by that can do some type of after care.?. How far are you willing to drive?

SPEECHLESS AS USUAL, YOU LOOK GREAT! I am always shocked to see that you look so great! Must be all the running! How is it with no "luggage"/ pannus? Must feel like freedom! Tiny panties.... that is my new long term goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will give my daughter Mazie, my current panties, to make a fort/tent to play under!!! ha ha ha ha My you experience as much success with the next PS! Will "Dad" be doing the next one?

4-28-07 last post on this thread by Julie...... Julie please throw us a bone. We are eager/beggers for updates from those who have gone before us! I am 33# down now, and am ready to save for my own PS. I can't imagine losing as much, as fast, as you have, but I'm willing to try!

If you could see what I'm looking at (me) -NO BRA is just out of the question!!! I could use a little PS where I am, right now! And I am just in the very beginning! If that could sound like my future..... there is hope after all!!!! Please Please have tooooo much fun, so you can come back and tell us all about it! It will be the closest thing to being there, that I will get! Have fun and stay safe!! When will you be back?

Tiggeriffic..... I hope all is well, my port has moved abit while healing, and NO problem at my first fill. My doc has his nurse "Rita" do all the fills, and under fluro always. I think all will be fine when you do that. Keep us posted. Good luck.

Congratulations!!!!! I too will be trying very hard to pay off my surgery before I need PS!! And I stay home with Mazie who is 19 months old!!! May your journey begin!!!!!

HEY TERRY-I think I am getting my second fill in another week(first one was 5 days ago)... This is the first I've heard of OMNIPAQUE... is that like "fix-a-flat" for tires???? Thick, and sticky so that it gums up/stops any slow leaks???? Did they let you check out this fluid? What consistency does it compare with?? Is this being used in other places, longer than here(USA)??? How should it react to one's body if it leaks at all? Any way hope it is great for your band issue. Good luck!

In my 5cc band my first fill was 5-17-07 and I got 1cc! No restriction- I can eat anything so far, but I do chew well. I feel full a little longer than before, that's good, but still eating too much. Hoping fill#2 is much better. GOOD LUCK with your fills!

First fill was quick, simple and painless!!! I did loose 8 pounds since surgery!!!! Got 1cc put in my 5cc band under floro. Hope I can feel restriction when solids start again!!! If not, I can go again in 2 weeks! Good luck and much success to you all-Violets!!! Got a tattoo same day as first fill, of BIG butterfly, and small vine on my leg. It represents my change and growth...lots of change, and a little growth (for now)!!!

Back from first fill.... quick, simple, and painless!!! got 1cc. in my 5cc. band!! Found out that I did NOT gain all pounds lost, back again!!! Lost another 8 pounds!!!since surgery!!!!!!
