Well I was sleeve at 7 this morning and it's 4:00 now and so far so good other then some mean gas lol I'm doing ok I think, I was able to drink 2 oz of Water in like 2 hours with no pain and with ease going down. Is this normal I don't even feel sleeved? Also is it going to hurt when I wake in the morning? And prayers please this always helps :-) thanks y'all everybody is so great on here!

Congratulations! Just take it easy and follow your instructions. Sound like smooth sailing for you so far though. I'm impressed you are already on-line asking questions!

Well tomorrow is the day and I'm extremely nervous. I still can't believe I have made the decision to have this procedure done but I am excited and I'm looking forward to living a new and healthier lifestyle. I hope and pray everything goes well. I'm sending my blessings to everyone who's has a surgery date coming up as well! Good luck Sleevers:-)

Seriously guys I'm about 3 seconds from balling like I'm 3 . I swear I don't want to feel this way about my children .....they are the reason I did the surgery becuase I want to live as long and be as healthy as I canbe for there kids. My seven year old just told me to go lay down and he would give my 3 year old a bath in my bathroom and he did it ... Got him out and dressed him and everything ....( ok the tears have arrived). I can't wait for October so that the hard part will be memories and I can get my mother of the year award back ! And it back to work for me tomorrow .....lord give me strength!!!!

My other confessions include:
I confess that I have gone down all the sizes in my closet and i finally hit the smallest size and they no longer fit (size 12) so I literally have NOTHING that fits. Sounds like a good problem to have, but it has me very depressed.
I confess that I get irritated when people tell me to buy new clothes because my clothes are too big. If it offends them so much they can buy me some.
I confess I don't want to spend the money on clothes for fear I will not be able to wear them long. Plus size 12's are too big, but 10's are snug. What can I wear?
I confess that this depression has made me snacky and self sabotaging on my diet. I ate Cookies today and FRIES yesterday.
I confess I am worried when I get in these funks that I will go back to old habits because I don't feel worthy.
I confess I love the people on VST because they are always willing to help and listen. It's like free therapy.
I confess I love this thread. Still feel yucky in my clothes though.

I confess that I Have no ideal how to eat right still I'm on soft food so I eat and puke

I confess that maybe I should be walking more then I could but the pain is was keeping me from doing anything

I left my fingers and toes sans polish but I would recommend waxing down there though for when they put the catheter in you. Just a thought

dooteryou are right about people not talking about the good things. we do come on this board asking questions, reporting bad things that have happened that day, being sick, all that good stuff.

i was in hospital 2 nights - no major problems/or surprises with recovery. "little" nautious at home, didn't sleep well first night cuz of stiches. other than that - smooth sailing since WLS almost 8 months ago
when i'm on this board , i would just feel silly saying "hey guys I'm having a great day" but

DH is home telecommuting - our small heat wave has settled down to 75 - and i bought a wendy's almond/berry 1/2 salad - um um good for lunch- also went to kohl's and bought new gym exercise clothes - can't get much better than that
kindof boring - but i'm loving it
continue "enjoying" your pre-op diet
8/20 is right around the corner woohoo

I went into surgery expecting to die, and accepting the gamble because of all my health complications. I woke up and went "What?" because I truly didn't expect to wake up. When they wheeled me into my room, I got up off the recovery bed, walked around the hospital bed, and sat in the chair. I never did get in that hospital bed. My only pain was in my thighs from trying to use my leg muscled instead of my tummy muscles, but that went away quickly. I took pain meds three times after surgery, then refused any more pain meds.
I drove myself home the day after surgery, about a 40 minute drive. I started walking up and down my hallway the next day and I've been high energy ever since. In 10 months I've lost 110 pounds, plus I feel amazing!!!
This is the third best gamble I've ever taken (having my boys were #1 and #2).

Don't let your opportunity slip away! Is surgery scary? Yes. Could there be complications? Yes.
But look at your quality of life now. You wouldn't be looking into surgery if you were at a healthy
weight. If the good outweighs the bad, go for it!

I love Dr. Ashmore! And I love the way you've decided to look at it. 80% ARE successful. Is that the decision you make every single day?
I too worry about maintenance, but I'm working on how to address my triggers and how to solidify successful behaviors. I WANT to be that 80% so I am going to be, dang it! (Praying as well, you know, just in case he he... hey it can't hurt!)

Welcome aboard. It can get bumpy in here so make sure your seat belt is securely fastened, tray table in the upright and locked position, exits are clearly marked, etc. Enjoy your trip to your new life!

How bout getting "winded" while drying your legs after a shower or tying your shoes. And does anyone else have the "good" mirror that they look in vs the other ones in the house. I have one that I look 25 lbs lighter in. I will be happy not have to seek out that mirror.

I went out twice this week to Celebrate a family event. First restaurant let me have a 3oz sample of crawfish bisque and I almost died and went to heaven. I just explained my situation and they were very accommodating. No charge! Second restaurant also have me a 3 oz sample of beef stew broth no chunks, gratis. Guess I have just gotten lucky.

I'm not sure how Mexican u wanna go but I love eatin tuna with chopped tomatoes, onion, and a carrano jalapeño and lemon juice- and it's BOMB!!

Hi I am on pre op diet and I added my ckn salad to what I call a cucumber boat.. cut cucumber lenghth wise and removed seeds. Very crunchy and didn't even miss bread, fritos or crackers..

Pickled sliced beets. Yup, sounds gross but then again I make my tuna with brown mustard.
