  1. I cooked for my kids too during this phase and it was frustrating. However, I just kept reminding myself that this is just a "phase" of the program and I will survive it. Just take it one sip at a time. I also took this time to make my kids things that didn't really tempt me to want to eat. I made them things that I normally don't want. They will get over it. Good luck and keep walking through it. It will get easier.
  2. Guilt is what made me fat! I would work on trying to not do things to make you feel guilty or move on from the incident. If you feel your band is ruined...call your Dr.
  3. I find this question funny too. A few people have asked me similiar questions. Really? My BMI would have eventually killed me...and you want to know about how I'm gonna feel about loose skin? Ugh!
  4. Congrats!! Sending good thoughts and energy your way!
  5. My rock bottom was when I couldn't fit in a roller coaster with my 11 yr old son. I was mortified and so was he. I was banded last month. I too will go back and fit in that roller coaster sooner than later. Congrats on your decision.
  6. Yay you! You will be fine....no need to run out screaming! Congrats on the new journey.
  7. I am having my first fill on 3/22. I am stoked! Congrats.
  8. They do look delicious! I love "to go" foods. Perfect!!
  9. Yes it is an emotional journey. I promise you will look back and be grateful you had some time to get used to the idea if WLS. It took me 10 months to get banded from my initial exciting consulatation with my surgeon. In that 10 months...I cried, I beat myself up that I got so fat, I convinved myself I had no self control, I was excited, felt guilty, etc. etc. etc. But even with all those emotions....I started to learn to eat slower....take small bites.....chew my food....drink more water. I cherish those 10 months before the band. Because when the surgery finally got here....I was more ready than I was ever going to be! Be kind to yourself.....use this as a chance to slow your eating down...take smaller bites.....chew your food (regardless of what your eating or how much)! Sending good thoughts your way today!
  10. I have been there myself. But I am not sure that I even realized that's why I was uninterested in attending. I commend you on your awareness of this. Looking back on the times I declined something....it was all about how uncomfortable I felt in my body and what would I wear that didn't make me look like 1000lbs. I will send good energy your way for a speedy approval. Keep your chin up and be nice to yourself.
  11. Everyone has an opinion...but not everybody has lost 75lbs. Good for you! I have a thin sister and sister n law that eat like truck drivers right now. I am going to venture to say that right now...I could very well be the healthier one....even fat. Keep up the excellent work....I am certain you could teach all of us a thing or 2.
  12. This gave me chills. Thanks for sharing. Congrats to you
  13. 54lbs is alot of weight!! Congrats on your success. It didn't take me a year to put on 75lbs.......it took me years and years. I expect to lose a little here and a little there...and then I expect to keep it off. 54lbs is your motivation. With another fill...get your head back in the game and you will get there! I know it. Good luck
  14. Welcome to the other side! Rest up and be nice to yourself. Congrats.
  15. I am having issues in that department too! I feel like I am taking alot of things to make me go...and it doesn't. Will I always have to "assist myself" to go? I guess this is something to speak to my doctor about when I see them in the next few weeks.
  16. You know what would be awesome...to start the video with our current weight.....and bust into the full dance routine after we lose a good bit!? shake it, shake it, shake it!!!
  17. Very nice accomplishment. Today I realized a similiar thing. As slow as the weight seems to be coming off...I realized that I have not been able to lose 30+ pounds in a long, long time. I have to count these successes! Congrats again.
  18. I just got chills! I would love to see a 1 as the first number of my weigh again. I am pretty sure it has been years....maybe like 15 yrs. This is one of my short term goals as well. Congrats
  19. Sending positive thoughts and energy your way! I am sorry this has happened to you and your family. Be kind to yourself.
  20. What an amazing transformation! Thanks for sharing.
  21. I have had several people tell me how "good" I looked this week despite the scale not moving. I am putting in the work and have to remember there are other ways to measure success. Congrats on walking confidently into the doctors office. That's a big one.
  22. I was banded early in February as well. The veterans will tell you that post op weight loss will slow down and it is normal. This is the time for healing not weight loss. I was a little frustrated with this as well but I keep logging calories and walking. I am sure the scale will start to move eventually. Congrats on your band! Good luck.
  23. "I tell myself, "it's hard." Then I tell myself, "Stop making excuses. You are a pig. You have no self control, no will power, no motivation. You're lazy." Basically I feel like I've tried another fad diet and failed." I am very NEW in my banded life so I don't have much to offer in terms of what works...yet. But here is what I have changed: I no longer allow myself to speak to "myself" this way. I try and be much kinder to myself and more forgiving. I try and love who I am even if I have a bad day, make a poor choice, or not exercise for a day or 2. I wouldn't talk to a stranger this way....I certainly shouldn't and won't speak to myself like this either. Forgive your short comings, be kind to yourself, and take it one day at a time...one rule at a time. Start by seeing your surgeon and be honest with where your head is. Good luck!
