10 days and counting
I have to agree. Who knows what my weight would balloon up to in 10 years....or what my insulin meds would be....or my blood pressure numbers. Or would I even see the next 10 years at a heavier weight. I will take my chances with the "tool" of the band and the lifestyle changes I am making. I will cross the "shelf life" when I get there. Hopefully...when I get there...I will be thinner and healthier for whatever is thrown my way. Good luck on your journey!

2 days post op and can't drink more than few ounces of liquid a day
I had some issues getting liquids down the first few days. I panicked a bit but the doc assured me to keep taking sips as often as possible. By the 3rd day I was getting more down. I also felt worse than I thought I would the first few days. If things don't get better...keep calling the doctor. Good luck. This too shall pass.

anxious, overwhelmed, questioning following through...
I was grateful for a 6 month process before my surgery to work out the kinks mentally, emotionally, spirtually. It wasn't easy to comply wth the pre-op requirements and some days I fought it as well. But I did "do it" and I had to give up what I thought I could do and not do and DO what others said I needed to do to get the surgery. I wanted the surgery enough to follow the rules and get me that band. It took every minute of that 6 months to get me ready for banded life. And I'm glad to have made it through. Good luck on your journey!

Pre-op liquid "D" word.
b***h away! Yes it does suck...but somehow we all dig deep enough and get it done! Cheers to your new journey!

Question about Vomitting
I was very queasy when I woke up from surgery. I dry heeved several times......nurses were aware and just gave me more anti nausea meds. I was fine after I got home and didn't dry heeve again. I know it's scary but try and relax. If your still super nervous....call your surgery team and ask questions. If you are sipping and drinking your liquids easily....then I am sure things are fine. Congrats on your new band!

Update on progress and First Fill
Thank you for the summary of your visit. This was very helpful. My weight loss has stalled as well. I have bargained with myself to put the scale away for now. Now I just need to do it.

3 days Post Op Observations

From Size 16 To Size 8 And Counting.....
Wow....you look gorgeous! Congrats!

What did you tell you family/friends?
I think this is all a personal choice and journey. For me, I guess I lied to myself about how heavy I was and would never dare tell anyone what I weighed (including my husband). This was all part of my denial! When I finally got real about my issues and admitted that I couldn't do it on my own and relinquishing the MY WAY that clearly wasn't working....I began to change and be free from this issue. I tell people as I need to....but for me...it really is about being honest about my weight and my journey. This, I know, will set me free.

Needed a pair of jeans....
Good idea....thanks.

Needed a pair of jeans....
Thanks

Needed a pair of jeans....
I wore a pair of jeans the other day that I had not wore in months (pre band). They practically fell off of me...even with a belt. Today I went to the store to replace said jeans. At 251.......I wore a size 22 Now.......a size 16 I almost don't even really believe it. These jeans were purchased in the Misses section...not the Woman's section. Speechless and in Awe!

Eating disorder
Sending good thoughts and energy your way. I wish I could give you a hug right now. Please consider speaking to your doctors about this.

Memory
Thank you for sharing this. I agree with the "stinkin thinkin" for fat people. What a nasty cycle. We are our own worst enemies. Congrats on all your successes......you are truly an inspiration for us newbies.

I Will Not Go To It!!!!
My "woo hoo moment" has been staying away from girl scout cookies....

Sad :(
I am not sure I would have done well thus far had I not had the 6 months to prepare. I am pretty sure I would have had a hard time not knowing what I learned in the 6 months before the surgery. Good luck

It Just Stopped!
Thank you for all the replies! I think I will put the scale away for a week or so. I don't want my mood to be dictated by what the scale says each day. Thanks for the feedback!

It Just Stopped!
I hit that ever dreaded post op weight loss "stop". It just stopped. Won't budge. Been about a week. Sort of bummed out about it. Starting puree's tomorrow and hope this will get things moving again. Logically, I know this is the time for healing and learning to eat with the band. I get it and understand it. But still bummed out.
