  1. I feel like you have to find what works for you. I've lost almost 40 at 2 months and have not exercised at all. I try to get in a lot of protein but sometimes I eat too little. Then I'll eat more carbs than protein on a certain and I'll drop a lot within a couple days of that. It varies. Try mixing things up-- more water, less protein, more calories, less calories. I think we all have something that works better for us. Your body can't hang onto the weight with a huge reduction in calories forever...it's impossible. Good luck!

  2. At the top of this page on the right of te search bar is a gear- that's what I hit first. Then you put in almost any question and youll find tons of answers. I can't relate specifically to your situation but I'm very happy I did this.

For example you can put in "newly pregnant how long to wait for sleeve"

and see what comes up. Also go to all the various sections about groups- such as "people in their 20's," "people from Texas" (where it says about what part of the country you're in) etc.

    Good luck!

  3. Go to The World According to Eggface and click on purees. I love/d her Ricotta Bake- it's a fave among all the WLS people--- I counted the moments until I could have it.

I had a lot of cottage cheese, refried beans w/cheese and sour cream, those little cheese triangles- licked them, greek yogurt, ricotta cheese with tomato sauce, hummous...hmmmm.. Definitely do a search here on purees and you'll find tons.

  4. I also felt trapped on the sofa playing games and watching t.v too tired to move after work-- and in 7 weeks I remember what it was like to live again. I actually ran up and down the steps a few times because I forgot something... SHOCKER! (You know the whole- I'll get it later or when I go up to bed)

Do it-- not only will you not die-- you'll finally LIVE again!

  5. Darkkyss- you won't be sore on both sides (because of surgeryof both)- they tend to take everything out the same hole.

I had them both removed, did lots of research and there

doesn't seem to be a diff. in getting them done same time.

Tjloser- I bet you won't believe how great you'll feel

after getting it out. I lived with pain for years from gallstones not realizing how bad the GB issues were.

  6. Hey buddy, great first blog!

Our surgeries being only a day apart--- I also am looking forward to becoming a baby--- this infant stuff...pfffft.. dying for a mushed egg!

You're doing awesome and I'm looking forward to seeing all your progress.

  7. I think variety is the best thing..sugar free popsicles in all those tropical flavors, shakes in all flavors, veg. and chicken and beef broth interchanges with chocolate shakes and puddings and jellos in all those diff. flavors. I'm allowed 3-4 shakes and 4-5 other smooh stuff (the puddings, ooh ooh lemon- because it's not chunky, YOGURT). But my favorite has been Cream of Wheat because it has texture. Once I had that I felt so much better.

  8. there's whey protein and whey protein ISOLATE

make sure it's the isolate....my nutritionist actually pulled those sticks out and said don't get them because I guess it means (in essence) the "milk" hasn't been isolated.

HOWEVER, if you need to live and aren't able to eat then you have to do what you have to do...temporarily.. right? I really hope you get what you need and feel better soon!!

  9. night 2-- went shopping today and got SUCH a variety of things so I won't be bored with plain old chocolate shakes.

My favorite-- cream of wheat w/cinnamon. It's on the list of things allowed 5 times a day-- with yogurt, pureed soups, sugar free applesauce. I'm mixing it up.

I was so depressed earlier today and am starting to feel better. Tomorrow I cut back even more on coffee (everyday I'm going a little less).

  10. Started today. I actually feel like I'll be "eating" more healthily than I have in a long time-- with the protein shakes and forcing myself to get in enough water and not eating junk. I have energy today after my first shake and huge glass of water.

So I think I'll resign myself, because it's going to happen anyway, that it's awesome and I love it.

(Don't worry I'll be back to complain- lol)

  11. I didn't take pics. but I really really looked at my body in the mirror the other day like you were saying and thought the same things. How did I do this?? How didn't I notice just how bad I look. I thought by wearing nice makeup and jewelry and clothes that somehow it wasn't noticeable!?! I looked at every lump and clump and beat myself up and also tried to forgive myself. It was so hard but I think it was needed. Tomorrow is a new day and I'll never let it happen again.

  12. Moving? EVERYONE needs help with moving! I haven't had it done yet so that's all can say.

    Although.....

I couldn't not tell someone. I feel like I get emotional and need to deal with things by talking to others. I admire that you are so strong but I also wonder if you may want to have someone you love involved. This may not happen to you at all but some say their hormones and emotions are all over the place so just be aware of that and decide how that will be handled. I wish you much luck on your journey!

  13. My surgery is July 16th also.

I found out today I have to do a 10 liquid diet-- so I start Thurs.

I'm anxious to see how our surgeries compare.

    Good luck to you!!

I'm not looking forward to the liquid diet either but I've found from experimenting that the protein stuff is filling. We shall see.

  14. Thanks for your blog. Great progress- I wish you continued success!

So when you say instantly regretted it fiercely...is that a pain in chest, feeling in your throat, a nausea or vomit...what is the feeling like? I mean I guess I'll figure it out soon enough but...how do you know. I guess I won't be able to not have it happen because it's all trial and error...true?
