  1. Who is your insurance company? And is it a hospital or center? Just curious cause I am about to go through that hurdle too.
  2. I personally think those are just small fears compared to the significant benefits the band will give you!! I have those fears too but I ignore them because I am just too damn excited to be healthy again!
  3. Wait, were you approved and then denied?? I thought most surgery dates aren't even scheduled until you are approved?
  4. I had my consult on April 28th. I will have completed everything I need by may 18th to submit to insurance.
  5. From what I have read on this site, no fruits and veggies is a bunch of hooey. You need to do more research my friend and want the band for yourself! There are limitations and everyone is different, but I have heard more than once that over time, you can eat mostly what you want, of the healthy choices of course, just in smaller portions. I am surprised that you passed the pysch evaluation because what they stressed to me was making sure that I was making the decision to do it for me, not for anyone else. I personally wouldn't do anything that I was certain of or had doubts about. I did the "one last shot" thing too and I ended up with the same result, gained back more weight than I lost. So I am in it for the long haul with the band.
  6. I have read a couple posts on here about the band unhooking and so it is filled but the ends aren't touching therefore there is no restriction. Something to ask your doc...
  7. Endoscopy was a breeze! Don't worry at all! Worst part...getting poked for the IV!
  8. Being transported to my sleep study! Endoscopy, EKG and ultrasound in the morning! Nerves!
  9. Congratulations!!!!! That is so encouraging. I have more to loose than you so if you can get 18 in 3 weeks, so can I! I am still in preop/insurance waiting phase...
  10. I will let you know how mine goes Saturday! Turns out I'm doing the endo, ultrasound, an EKG and lab work all on Saturday. Eek! I don't mind cause I want it all done done done and submitted to insurance!!
  11. I am new as well! I am completing the last of my pre op tests this Saturday and hope to have approval from my insurance soon after. Hoping for a June banding.
  12. Ok thank you! That's a relief.
  13. I have never had one before and mine is scheduled for Saturday morning. I am doing my sleep study tomorrow night and then will wake up and had all of the medical clearing tests done including the endoscopy. So nervous...they use prophyl...will I be awake and feel the tube going in????? I know its a small thing to be nervous about on the larger scale but still!
  14. The only part of this surgery (believe it or not) that scares me is not drinking Water as much as I want. I drink water all day every day and always feel thirsty. I understand that I will have to stop drinking while eating which will be hard. But to struggle all day drinking? Ay ya ya! I'm going through Pre op and then will be waiting on insurance. Fingers crossed!!
  15. So excited for you! I'm completing the last of my preop procedures this weekend and that'll be submitted to insurance. I can't wait for my new life!!
  16. Good luck!! I have my sleep study Friday and my endoscopy Saturday!!
  17. I should mention I am in California!
  18. Hi all, I am wondering what the process was like for any of you that had Anthem Blue Cross as an insurance company for your banding. How long did it take for approval? Any special hoops to go through? I just had my first consultation Saturday and they are submitting everything to my insurance. I am at a BMI of 39.4, overweight 7 plus years, pre diabetic and I don't have a thyroid anymore. I am beginning my sleep studies and endoscopy tests this weekend. Any comments are appreaciated!!!
  19. Hi guys! How do you get these cute little tickers on here?
