Just Sleeved.
I'm sure by the one week mark you will be feeling much better. Every day will be better than the last

Strawberries
according to the information given to me by my Dr I should be able to start adding most any food in at around 8 weeks. Now tolerating them may be a totally different situation.

Approved!

Hi, My Name Is...
Hi Denalisa, Welcome!!! I'm getting sleved myself on June 13th and like you I have started feeling the excitement (and a little nervousness). I can't wait to be on the other side and start losing the weight. Best of luck to you on your journey!!! I had the same feelings as you when I told my mother but to my suprise she was VERY happy that i had made the decision.

60 Day Blues...
Please Please Please let me loose 5 pounds a week after I have surgery. If you ask me that is pretty life changing. I said it in an earlier post today but I'll say it again... if you think you are disappointed by how much weight you are losing, just step into any gym and start telling people that you ONLY lose 5lbs a week and see if anyone feels bad for you. My guess is that most people that are spending their time in the gym would die to lose 5lbs a week. Sounds like you are doing GREAT!!! I would say keep it up and remember not to compare yourself with others. Everyone's body is a little different but the rate you are losing is nothing to be upset at. Lose to quickly and you'll end up with a ton of loose skin.

Sleeved Three Days Post Op
It's great to see the concern that this community has for one another. I was Very impressed that Kathy posted asking how you were doing Lisa. I'm so glad I found this community and hope others feel the same way. I think Kathy hit the nail on the head... Lots of walking and lots of little sips. Seems like that's the theme of a lot of posts. Hope you start feeling better VERY soon!!!!!

Srry If Its Random...i'm Just Really Annoyed!
Absolutely agree with Wheetsin... speaking as a man... we are NOT born with crystal balls nor do we always get subtle hints. It could be that he thought that you wouldn't even be interested since you are 2 weeks post op. I personally would be worried about it 2 weeks post op and would probably think the response I would get would be something close to "Seriously... I JUST had surgery".

Today Is My Day...nervous Wreck But Excited
Congrats and good luck. You will find a lot of great support here.

Sleeping ....
I think that is pretty typical of any abdominal surgery. It won't be long and you will be back to sleeping on your side.

I Am 2 Days Post Op!
Sounds like you are doing great!!! Hope my recovery is as smooth as yours.

Not Losing
I can only imagine that it's very frustrating. I am having the surgery on June 13th and know that I'll probably experience times where my body does the same thing. I think it's good to remember that we didn't gain all of the weight overnight, so it's going to take time to get it all off which is a benefit to us anyway since it allows time for our body to adjust. Hang in there, I'm sure you will be dropping pounds again soon. Have you tried increasing your protien intake? Gene

Getting Nervous!
It will be here and over before you know it. Congrats. My surgery isn't until the 13th but I'm already starting to get anxious. Good luck!!!

I Am So Hungry
Emily is right... You CAN do this. It's only 7 more days... The post op diet is there for a reason, to minimize risks. Would you rather have broth for one more week or a complication? Do anything you can to keep your mind off of food, stay busy and the week will fly by.

Sleeve In 4 Hours Today!
Good luck today!!! Congrats, the wait is finally over.

Trying To Stay Positive And Focused But Feeling Discouraged
Losing the weight slow may be a blessing. From everything I have read losing slower gives your body a chance to keep up and therefore results in a lot less loose skin. Most people would be thrilled at 2lbs a week and any Dr would tell you that you are losing at the perfect rate. At the rate you are going you will be at your goal in around 9 months. You didn't gain it all in 9 months, so losing it that quickly is awesome!!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Surgery Eve!
Congrats on the surgery tomorrow Shelley!!! I know all of your want's will come true and many more!

5 Days Post Op, When Can I Start Working Out & What Should I Do?
I like the advice that my Dr. gave me. He said use the a childs method of telling if you should do something or not... Meaning... If it hurts, then don't do it. He said up front it's ok to go to the Gym and use the treadmill, stair stepper, etc.... and then work yourself up to doing more.

Choices
Great choice!!! If food was our true friend we wouldn't have needed surgery in the first place.
-
1 Month
Congrats Maggie. I can't wait until my surgery so I can start seeing results like that. Great Job!!!

Money Up Front. Des Peres
Most want everything up front with WLS since it is an elective surgery.

A Coke And A Smile
Awesome!!! Congratulations!!! I made the VERY same decison a week ago Satururday and I'm a long time Coke addict. Coke has made me smile so many times, but dropping those pounds is going to make me smile even more.

I'm Craving Potato! :-(
I have not had the surgery yet, but was just looking at my diet restrictions post op and it shows that I can add potatoes back in around 8 weeks out. I would think a baked potato with butter spray would be your most healthy option.

Surgery Date Scheduled - June 13Th :)
Pre-Op Diet for me... One Protein shake for Breakfast One Protein Shake for lunch One protein shake for dinner I can also have Lean chicken breasts and cottage cheese at any meal. Consume a MINIMUM of 64 ounces of clear fluids between Protein Shakes (OMG) approved liquids Water or flavored water crystal light propel G2 sugar free KoolAid Sugar Free Popsicle Sugar Free Jello Chicken or Beef broth Ocean Spray Sugar Free Drink Mixes As far as soda Diet or otherwise it's recommended that you do not have carbonated beverages post surgery so my thought is it's best just to stop drinking them as soon as possible (which is why I stopped). I hate most diet soda's anyway so it didn't even appeal to me to swap to diet.

Surgery Date Scheduled - June 13Th :)
Thanks Dalton!!! You'll do great on the pre-op diet You'll stick to it because you have to. I know I won't be happy doing it but I'll stick to it because I have no choice if I want surgery... and I WANT surgery!!! is your Dr allowing chicken in your pre-op diet?
