  1. Banded 2010 (Dec). It seems everyday is different. Normally I cannot eat breakfast early. I can occasionally have an egg with chopped ham. But now that I'm at 5.5cc for me, oatmeal, cream of wheat, cottage cheese with mixed yogurt and granola is my style. I can't do bread at all, maybe a small baby bite of whole grain toast...but not my preference as I risk a stick with bread. About a cup each meal.
  2. You know it felt wonderful and he is proud of me but told me he loves me no matter what size...but about that fat lady suit, I do still see fat me in the mirror. Should I go to see a psychiatrist? I know I'm smaller (large 12) but I still see a 24 size. Ill even shop in larger section first and then realize I'm not there. I'm still trying to spot exercise. I'm learning to love myself again and am no longer a quantity eater...thank you band!!!!
  3. Yep and it's strange that not necessarily food coming up...it's the saliva that helps the food go down and when you ate stuck si is all that snot:) I hate stuck issues and try to avoid those events... But it can happen. It's a great reminder to chew smaller bites, take your time, and slow down:)
  4. My husband calls me from work yesterday and says, "I thought I would tell you that Bill ( husband's best friend) was at the grocery store the other day and he thinks he saw you wanted to say hi, but wasn't sure it was you...how much weight has she lost? She was unrecognizable." Ok it has been one year since he has seen me. Made my day and I guess I'm realizing that I have changed my body! ( his sister is heavy he is kind about the weight issues)
  5. Be patient and take the journey in stride. When you begin to get your fills you will be in the green zone at some point in which you will get some regular weight loss. It does take time, just as it did when you gained it but a tad bit faster! I saw more weight loss at the beginning of my second year with a total of 83-84 pounds. I still have a good 35-40 pounds to hit goal.
  6. Yay!!! I was a 46 DD now I'm at a 38 DD ( but the way my bras are now fitting it's time to think about a 38 D!!!)
  7. I never thought I could get through a meal without a drink, but it is something that you get used to. I have had a sip before a meal comes out...but because we are only getting a cup of food, I sacrifice the liquid!!!!! I do drink plenty of Water between meals:)
  8. No way! After my second fill I took a small bite of a toasted bagel with cream cheese. I got stuck and has pain...I don't know what I was thinking. Bread, pizza crust, muffins, and doughnuts are just not an option for me physically and...after the incident it is an issue emotionally.
  9. Please try to follow the rules to make sure your band is ok. I know it can be difficult til you get a fill, but it is so important to follow those rules:)
  10. I would continue to do exactly what you are doing.

Zofran if your surgeon can call in a prescription. It melts in your mouth. There is also liquid phenergen.
  12. I have a tendency to take too big of bites and not chew enough. As we get more restricted with our fills, those chewing and size rules are sure going to have an impact on how we feel. Good luck.
  13. Are you drinking plenty in between these meals? I still needed more restriction at 4.5cc I finally had more restriction at 5.5cc lost 17 pounds from February til May
  14. My doc gave me a prescription of lidocaine to rub on wy port area thirty minutes before procedure, cover with plastic wrap and medical tape to hold it down. It should be "blanched" on the skin which appears lighter and numb. He also offers a lidocaine shot if I want it and usually I don't.
  15. I'm told three days by my surgeon because the stomach is being messed with (tightened), going on full liquids allows the stomach to adjust and heal. Every doctor is different. By the third day in afternoon I'm ready for a nice thick bowl of soup:)
  16. It's betadine or iodine a disinfectant that sanitizes the skin during a fill. My surgeon is so sweet and makes sure he tells me the procedure he is doing and cleans it up.
  17. Gosh that's pretty small. I sometimes don't realize how big my bites are and I don't think I chew enough (supposed to chew 30 times, right?) just went to a class on mindfulness. Talked about wise eating vs rational and emotional eating. I found it interesting that all too often we aren't really paying attention to our eating... The texture, the smell, the taste, size, etc.
  18. I ready for Vegas hopefully next year.
  19. Wow I guess I never thought of saving the band...I am really concentrating on eating smaller portions and exercising to get weight down until August 1, my next fill. I'm at 5.5cc and this feels like it could be a potential fill that could work for me or be quite restricted. So in the meantime I just work harder. I am trying to learn for life the right way to eat but it's tuff that's why I'm here.
  20. Thank you for article and encouragement a few days ago. I'm down in weight!!!!
  21. Golds free weights and machine....plus water aerobics. More reps right form in arm work with weights.
  22. Tighter band maybe Water retention... Harder to get things down. Band has tantrums...I need to eat slower chew smaller bites.
  23. I used to be fairly quiet and I'm a director of a child care center. Patents questioned my weight loss along with great compliments. I haven't held back in letting them know I had lapband. I haven't had any sideway looks. They congratulate me. But it would be tough to travel. Whatever you feel comfy with:)
