Has Anyone Been Sleeved And Works At Ups?
I was on leave for 4 weeks, before the light duty, I was bored because I couldn't lift anything more than 10 pounds after week 3, before 5 pounds for the first 3 weeks.

Has Anyone Been Sleeved And Works At Ups?
With the heavy items you'd handle at work, I wouldn't think so. When I had my hysterectomy, I was on light duty for 6 weeks (I worked at the PO) and it still kinda hurt lifting packages for another couple of weeks.

Super Depressed :(
@amytug: I also am taking Lamictal and Welbutrin. I am not stressing anymore about being approved. I had all my money saved for the surgery, then Friday, was blessed with a $700 car repair bill. God will make a way and provide for our needs.

Nectar Caribbean Cooler...yes!
I was sooo looking forward to trying the "fuzzy navel". So, I should just order other flavors in my sample pack?
-
Psych Eval
My psych evaluation was done in 2 parts. Don't worry about it. They just want to make sure you are ready for the surgery and to let you know about maybe being depressed afterwards.

What Do They Want? Gah!
I chose to go a nutritionist for 6 meetings, rather than go to my pcp. I was weighed at the meetings and given knowledge of good and bad fats, carbs, etc. I think they ( the ins co ) go by what you weighed at the onset; not what you've lost. We all can lose weight...but keeping it off... Hence the surgery tool for help losing and keeping it off.

Getting Post Op Stuff Together
Where do I buy Oh Yea and About Time? I ordered the Chike samples and when i saw the ingredients and calorie count, I gave them to my daughter. I do not want to be having sugar and all those calories. I like the premium shakes from Costco.

Have I Messed Up Too Bad?
@MinaT I cannot have aspartame either. I bought Knox Gelatin and added 4C diet drink mix ( it contains sucralose ). Edy's has sugar free ( also sucralose ) ice pops. Hope that helps.

1 Month Post-op: I Miss Veggies So Much!
@Lissa, you always have some delightful posts. I am glad I will not have to give up salads forever. Will I ever be able to have homemade stir fried veggies ( I use very little olive oil and blot the veggies gently) ?

Pre-Sleevers...ask The Surgeon If He Places An Abdominal Binder.
I don't know if my surgeon places an abdominal binder after surgery or not, so I bought one at Wal-Mart.

Copay, Deductible Mumbo Jumbo...
I have Cigna and I am hoping that with the doctor bills I already co-paid and the pre-op dr visits will help with the co-pay due at the time of the surgery. I have Medicare Part A ( because I am disabled ) and hope that takes care of part of the hospital bill. Just taking it day by day.

What Made You Choose Vsg Over The Other Procedures?
I originally wanted the band, until I went to the info meeting. The idea of a port in my side and fills, etc. just wasn't appealing. And the thought of even messing with my intestines was just out of the question. So, I spent alot of time on this forum and watching videos on you-tube and discussed this with my husband and my best friend ( my sounding boards ) and decided the VSG would be the best option for me. I need the tool; I just don't need malabsorption or dumping. I feel confident with my decision.

Vacationing With Family Who Doesn't Know
Gosh, being moved to Florida (yuk) I miss NJ. I miss Bound Brook; my family lives in Dunellen and I lived in Mon. County. I am going up to NJ in the fall and am hoping my surgery is over by then. I just plan on saying that after being overweight all these years, I decided to do something about it and am eating better.
