  1. I'm eating nonfat refried beans with a sprinkle of cheese.
  2. I'm 3 weeks post op and I track protein and water.
  3. Thanks everyone. I am sure this is normal, but the pureed stage is rough. I have only one more week, which I think I can handle. Looking forward to a bite of peanut butter tonight!
  4. Thanks for the info. I am in the same boat with the soup and eggs. I think I'll try ricotta today!
  5. I can't wait to buy matching bra and undies from Victoria's Secret.
  6. Are you being a bit too hard on yourself?
  7. Welcome! I lived on here for the first 2 weeks! I'm 3 weeks post op, and feel a lot more normal now.
  8. I swear I searched for this in all of the posts, but didn't find my answer. Can I have a little Peanut Butter on a spoon during the pureed stage? I am three weeks post-op and I must admit I am having trouble with pureed foods, and I've been still eating a lot of yogurt and drinking shakes and powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury broth; however when I cross over to food, I'm probably eating soft stage food rather than pureed. I need more options. Any thoughts on peanut butter?
  9. At 11 days, you are still healing. I would encourage you to focus on the healing before the weight loss. Hang in there.
  10. I've mixed the unflavored powder with yogurt. There is no taste at all.
  11. I really enjoy the broth, as I am sick sick sick of sweet protien shakes! (2 weeks post op + 1 week liquid diet)
  12. Mama, I don't know much about anemia. And no, the Novasure didn't help much with mood swings, maybe a little, but not measurably so. However, I had to take alternating ibuprofen and Tylenol daily when on my period. The pain was so bad, and I am less irritable now.
  13. It is hard. I cheated twice: one bite of cheese and one piece of Werthers candy. Then I realized, it is a slippery slope and I will never stop, unless I stop. So I stayed the course and made it all the way, and I was so proud of myself. If you're gonna cheat, drink an extra shake. Best of luck!
  14. I'm 40 now, and I had Novasure in 2-1/2 years ago. I have been very pleased with the results. I know when I am having a period, but I never need any more than a pantyliner, and most of the time, not even that. I used to have very heavy bleeding and cramping. I no longer feel cramping at all. I wouldn't hesitate one bit to do that again! Hope this helps! Best.
  15. I did feel that way at first, but this week, that has subsided. From what I have read here, it has to do with swelling. When the swelling goes down, the pressure is less. Hope you feel better!
  16. I had a hiatal hernia repair, and I don't think my recovery was any worse. I did take my pain medicine regularly about the first week. On day 6, it was like a switch and I started feeling better and being able to take drinks, rather than sips. I don't have any more specific info on the hernia, as I see my doctor tomorrow. I am 2 weeks post op (today) and I feel great. Hope this helps!
  17. I'm in Houston. I would love to keep in touch!
  18. I am two weeks post op, and I am still using a pillow to support me when I sleep on my side. It really helps, but honestly, I was about 6 days out before I could lay comfortably in any position. At day 6, though, it was like a light switch and I started feeling better all around. Hang in there!
  19. I've lost about 15 pounds, including the 6 from the pre-op diet (one week). I am now 2 weeks post op. I'm a little disappointed because I see all of these 20+ pound losers in the first weeks, and I am only at 9 from the surgery (in 14 days). I hope I didn't do all of this to lose 15 pounds. On the other hand, being 15 pounds lighter does feel great.
  20. It will go away, but it took about 12 days for me. I kept calling my doctor's office asking if it was normal. I took my pain meds fairly regularly, and it helped with the shoulder ache.
  21. I think this is normal due to the IV (even at 158). Much rest and speedy recovery to you!
  22. Your post gave me goosebumps! I am hoping to run someday too. And I am thinking maybe I'll try that Jillian Michaels workout. Great idea! Best to you, let us know how the 5k goes!
  23. Wow, have you talked to your VSG surgeon? I would try to get an opinion from another doctor who has more experience with the WLS before making a decision. Best of luck!
