  1. So happy for you! Also appreciate the encouragement, at 5 days post op, I'm not feeling so fabulous...
  2. Has anyone experienced a middle to lower back ache? I am 4 days post op, and have had this ache since yesterday. I can't help but to be concerned about every ache and pain. Could this be from hanging around the couch? It's not like I didn't do that a lot before the surgery, but still.
  3. I have been using the medicine cup. Tried to estimate yesterday but totally lost count. Luckily I finished two 12 oz G2 bottles, so I knew I had at least 24 oz. The medicine cup also helps the liquid to warm up, which goes down a little smoother for me. I usually sip three times out of each 1 oz. cup. Once I get a cup down, I make a tally mark. Ridiculous, but I'm scared to be dehydrated. They had to stick me 4 times to get the IV in and I have three terrible bruises, I don't want to have to go in for an IV if I can help it. 4 days down, woohoo!
  4. Rhapsody, great questions! I am feeling much the same way on day 4. I tally my cups of protien and liquid and write down what times I take medicine/vitamins. It stresses me out though, as I have only been able to get down 7 oz (28 grams) of protein and about 28 oz of G2/water. I was told to get to 48 oz. of liquid plus 45 grams of protein. I feel the same way with the pains and air as I take each sip. Walking around seems to help, but not enough. Hang in there, you're not alone that's for sure!
  5. It wasn't that bad to me. And I only had 4 small sips.
  6. Hi, I am 4 days out and I have a nagging little pain going from my left shoulder up my neck. Is this the kind of left shoulder pain you are all talking about? It is probably a 2 on a scale of 1-10. Of course it is Saturday, so calling the surgeon isn't an option. I just wonder what kind of "left shoulder pain" you all mean? Was it sharp pain and really severe? Thanks.
  7. Well stated. I needed this reminder. Best wishes nest week!
  8. I am 4 days out and I kind of have headaches too. I am in the Houston area, and I think it is related to the weather. My doc allowed me to resume using Flonase. Do you have those problems in San Antonio? It's a little drier there, but nonetheless there have been clouds moving in and out all week.
  9. I'm 3 days out too, and I've read a lot of people on these forums that say that they are naturally cooler than before...something about the gherlin. Anyway, keep taking an actual temperature and try to relax. Have you taken an acid reducer? Today, I took the advice of others here and bought Gas-X strips. They seem to help neutralize the gas. Makes me a little more comfortable. Don't know if that might help you too. I'm a worrier too, but too much unnecessary worry isn't going to help you heal.
  10. I'm using Chike, which has 28 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber. I mix it with unsweetened vanilla almond breeze for additional protein. The taste is good, and they have several flavors but all I bought was chocolate because I couldn't imagine I wouldn't want chocolate. I was wrong.
  11. Thank you. I feel quite alone in this process, didn't tell many people, so this site has become my sanity for the past 2 weeks.
  12. Wow you look fabulous! Congratulations.
  13. Hi All, I had my surgery on Tuesday, March 6, and I am getting accostomed to the sleeve. This is my first full day home, and I've been drinking as much as I can. I'm wondering if everyone experiences a lot of gas. Is that from the "higher pressure" of the "system"? I hear gurgling, like a slow drain, then moments later, gas. I'm still nervous about this decision, I am terrible at being a patient...My family is driving me crazy too, even my dog. This is far more emotional than I expected. Thanks for any insight.
