  1. I drink Chike too, and I love it. I have tried the Click as well, and it was yummy, but less protein per serving and caffeine. It is my understanding the Click will be available soon in decaf!
  2. Wow, sorry about your bad episode. I can't believe Lexi died...
  3. I didn't have to do that for my sleeve surgery. I did have to do a bowel prep when I had an ovary removed...depends on the surgeon, as with most advice.
  4. I love her ice cream. Bought an ice cream maker because of it! Satisfies in so many ways!
  5. Wow, might try to take in more fluids, I know that is difficult. Also, are you taking your vitamins? Hope you feel better soon and happy birthday!
  6. Last weekend my husband told me he can't wait until my ex-husband sees me after losing all this weight (about 30 pounds), and that my ex-husband will be blown away (although, I don't think he used "blown away" I think it was more obscene). My husband isn't a typical "macho" man, but apparently there's a competitive caveman in every man. I think he's proud!
  7. I felt the same way, until about week 4 or 5, then the anxiety lifted. I have tiny theory that the Protonix may have made my anxiety worse, it also made me stall, but I think it was good to have used it anyway. Hang in there; there are many chemical changes because of the changes in caloric intake, types of food consumed, and general frustration for the affirmative actions necessary to do the things we formerly took for granted. I don't know about you, but this is the first time in my life I have affirmatively thought about what I was eating, rather than obsessive or mindless eating. It's a drastic change, but it does get better. I am 9 weeks out now and some of these habits are becoming second nature now. But it has taken lots of effort over those 9 weeks, and I have LOTS more effort to go!
  8. Beautiful, Betterthan! Excellent and I love the idea of wearing the same blouse in the before and after shots. Great idea.
  9. I may be wrong, but I think the issue is that we don't eat enough volume to absorb all we need from food.
  10. Check out the recipes on http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com for protein ice cream. I bought an ice cream maker today and can't wait to try!
  11. Sorry, I wouldn't do it, it is too soon. My doc recommends a full year before having alcohol. Plus, at three weeks out, I wasn't feeling even close to normal. I would pass.
  12. I am usually at 1,000 calories, but I am 8 weeks post op today. I've been eating this amount for about three weeks. My NUT and doctor want me between 1,000 and 1,200 per day.
  13. I had back pain for about a month. I couldn't figure it out, but I wonder if I was overcompensating with my back by not using my abdominal muscles. Not sure, but one day it went away.
  14. Mine was way different too. They are all different. I would do what your doctor says, just to be safe!
  15. I use Secret Clinical strength which helps in the Houston humidity!
  16. I'm almost 8 weeks post op and can take small drinks. Sometimes I take a gulp and that doesn't feel great, but otherwise I've been taking small drinks since I was 5 weeks post op.
  17. I was sleeved on March 6, and I have lost 25 pounds. I too was hoping for more, seems like it went "on" faster than it is coming "off." I am struggling with getting all of my liquids in, usually around 50 oz. per day. My most recent epiphany is that I really do need to give up refined carbs, which is not something I resolved before surgery. I read eggface's blog, http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/, which has helped me a lot. It's a lifelong process, not a quick fix, but I am so grateful for having this opportunity now and not wasting any more years!
  18. I read somewhere that the gherlin that makes us hungry also helps with our memory. So when we lose the gherlin, we might lose some of our memory. I'm not sure where I found the article. It might be worth googling gherlin and memory.
  19. Mab, I am so sorry to hear. Try to relax, it might take a day or two for the medicines to start working and give you relief. Sending prayers your way.
  20. I struggle with some of the same things, but I am coming to realize (at age 40), that if I take care of myself these other things all fall into place. After the investment of time, energy and money we have put into VSG, it makes sense to protect that investment by taking the time to eat right and keep our strength up. I may be flamed by this comment, but start by getting the nutrition right, you can add exercise later.
  21. WOW, that sounds fabulous! Congrats for your 50 pound loss.
  22. I felt semi-normal on day 6, and a lot better by two weeks post op. I am now 7 weeks post op and I feel great. You'll get there! Try to relax and not to speed things along. Stay the course!
  23. Mama, I am so happy for you! It is time to start living!
  24. Felicity, have you tried the unjury chicken broth? It tastes great and at least it isn't sweet.
