  1. Call your surgeon and let them know that you no longer have insurance. Make an appointment, when your in with the doctor let him know that you haven't followed up because you lost your job and no longer have insurance. Most doctors will charge you for a level 1 office visit which is the cheapest, also ask if there is a cash discount. Try to work something out with them, you are doing great so for him to keep track of your progress is beneficial to him.
  2. My presurgical weight 284 I am now 249. I am on a full diet with no restrictions. I feel great. I eat about 800 calories a day. I don't deprive myself. Yesterday I had 1/4 of a cup cake. Today I tried to eat a steak taco that I bought from a vendor and took 2 bites and couldn't continue. That taco really messed up my stomach.
  3. Congrats. I'm glad to see your feeling well.
  4. Awesome, keep it the good work.
  5. Sending positive vibes your way.
  6. Yes, how great is it to only have 10 pounds to loose. Congrats.
  7. I'm 7 weeks out and I pretty much eat 6 times a day, they are tiny amounts. So I really wouldn't worry as it seems to be the small amount of food is going to make you hungry every few hours.

I wouldn't go back to liquids, but maybe soft foods, and soups. Hope u feel better.
  9. Yes, I agree. I feel normal at the theatre. I always buy a large bottle water. I did order my son some nachos and has 2 or 3 of them and that was enough. Before I would have gotten my own.
  10. I don't deprive myself, however i tend to be satisfied with much less food than before. Most of my meals are protein based, but I will occasionally have a treat.
  11. The broccoli was prob way to fiberous. I was told that fiber was not permitted the first few months as it is too rough going down. Hope you feel better soon.
  12. Are you eating anything?? When I wasn't eating solids my doctor told me not to worry about it. If you still haven't went by monday, I would give the surgeon a call.
  13. Wow it's great that you will both go through this together. Your not goin to have to worry about him trying to sabatoging ur diet. Best of luck to the both of you.
  14. Thanks for the story. It is very reassuring that you picked the vsg with your extensive back round.
  15. Looking good. Keep up the good work.
  16. Customarily hospitals will ask for copay and deductibles in advance. I have heard some places that make you pay the out of pocket in advance. I was lucky that my hospital didn't require prepayment. But do be aware that you will have to eventually pay the full out of pocket, my out of pocket is 2,500 and it looks like I'm on the hook for that.
  17. Trust me it gets easier with everyday that passes.
  18. You look great keep up the good work.
  19. Glad to hear that your feeling better, and remember it does get a bit easier/ manageable everyday.
  20. You will be on the road to recovery before you know it. Being nervous is normal and I think it is something that we have all experienced. My thoughts are with you.
  21. I work full time and 2 months ago when I had surgery I was enrolled in 4 classes. No issues adjusting.
  22. I'm just about 2 months post op, I'm at 60g of protein and my calories are about 800. My doctor told me at this point not to worry about calories, instead to focus on my protein.
  23. Wow 2 sets of twins, that is pretty awesome. And yes you are blessed. Welcome to your new journey. Remember with everyday that passes it gets better/easier.
