  1. That is sooo awesome! Congrats! I'm just 3 months out and losing weight slowly. These success stories inspire us all and keep us motivated. I hope I have great weight loss by my one year surgiversary too!
  2. LOL that is funny! So I read your blog and see your surgery is on May 22. Excited? I wish you a safe surgery, speedy recovery and successful weight loss!!!
  3. WOW! Already? I did not go back to work for 5 weeks. I was pretty tired during the first 4 weeks. Had to take naps in the afternoon to recharge my batteries LOL. Amazing that you are able to work so soon after surgery. But do take it easy -- and all the best for recovery and weight loss!!!
  4. That is so awesome! Congrats!
  5. Thank you so much! And all the best to reach your goals!!
  6. Lissa has pretty much covered everything. Here's mine: Find yourself a good support system. Someone who will push you when you really dont feel like exercising or walking etc. I and a friend (who is also my collegue) have an open bet - we have agreed to compare our daily walking. As I'm a bit competitive, this drives me to walk everyday. My treadmill has never seen so much action in years! LOL AND - post here often. This forum has done wonders for me! People here keep you motivated!
  7. Awesome! Congrats on your success! It should be a great feeling to see dramatic inch losses in just 6 weeks! I did not measure inches pre-op, so I dont have the 'correct' measurements. I just felt my dresses getting looser. At three months post op I can definitely see the changes in my appearance now. But I have 18 more pounds to lose to get to onderland.
  8. So true - TOM is a b****. So, are you at goal yet? Or do you think you'll lose some more and then start maintaining? I'm trying to imagine where I'll be at my one year mark, but I cant really think of a 'goal' number. The one on my ticker is really my reach-for-the-moon-you'll-atleast-land-on-a-star goal LOL. I think I need to set a realistic goal for me. My doc says he expects me to come down to 165. But I think I'll be between 175 and 180. Lets see how it goes *fingers crossed*
  9. An amazing journey!! Congrats on all your success! That smile on your face speaks for itself. You look fab!! If you dont mind me asking, can you please share with us what your starting/surgery weight was and how much you have lost in one year? I love reading stories like this. They keep me (and everyone here) motivated. Your kids look amazing and I'm very sure they are very proud of you! At this age, they truly need the inspiration to take care of themselves.
  10. You look fantastic! Congrats!
  11. You look GORGEOUS! Such an awesome transformation! Congrats! And I have to say this -- you in that black dress - WOW SEXY!!!
  12. Thank you! Oh isnt that an amazing feeling! Congrats to you too!
  13. Wishing you best of luck for getting that job! I know you'll rock in that job just like you rock your sleeve!
  14. Lissa, Courtney, Dorrie and Sleeve4me -- Thank you all very much!! I've been doing the happy dance the whole day too LOL
  15. Wow! That is an amazing transformation! Congrats!
  16. Congrats! Hope you have a speedy recovery without any complications!!
  17. Today is my 3 month surgiversary and I now weigh 99 kgs (217.8lbs). This is a huge scale victory for me, because I have not been in the two-digits for more than 4 yrs. Just wanted to share my happiness with you. I wouldnt have had the will power to push through this journey without the support from this community. I LOVE you all and my sincere thanks for your advice and encouragement!!!!
  18. Well, I lost 22lbs the first month and my doc said it was a good rate. 20lbs is a good amount considering we're pumped up in fluids and have to lose more right after surgery. If you dont mind me asking, what is your starting weight? People who start with a lower weight/BMI tend to lose slowly. You're doing just fine, dont worry
  19. Wow! Congrats! I'm waiting for something like this to happen to me!
  20. OMG! Look at you! You are absolutely fantastic!! What an inspiration! Congrats!
  21. The tender coconut water was one of my favs during liquid phase (which covered 3 weeks). One cup of tender coconut water has 46 calories and 8g carbs. This was one of the liquid diet items suggested by my surgeon. Considering we get in very less amounts of calories during Clear liquids (I barely managed 400 - out of which 200 came from my protein shakes), I think the carb in coconut water is not a lot. But I'll have to ask my surgeon about how much we can consume a day - I'm curious now Ofcourse my surgeon's diet plan emphasizes protein -- I take almost 65 to 80g protein a day (mostly from Protein shakes and fish/chicken). But I think it is very difficult to achieve protein reqmts during clear liquid stages.
  22. Awesome! I love hearing stuff like this... I didn't (and don't) lose at such an amazing rate, but hearing about it makes me so happy coz this is a proof that VSG works wonderfully!
  23. WOW that is Awesome! Congrats! Wish you all the best to reach goal soon!
