Formally Introduced
Hi All, I have been searching around, making comments here and there, posts, etc., but never formally came to say 'Hello'. I am here because I have seriously considered WLS. With determination I am set to research all I can! I love this site. Since being here I have learned a great deal and have become obsessed with finding out as much as I can during the Pre-Op hurdles. I keep reading that the participants here are helpful...but I still have some unanswered questions...LOL! I went to the Bariatric Support Meeting tonight in my area and I'm glad I did. I've had my initial consult. Will see the medical doctor and the nutrionist in 3 weeks and month 1 will be underway! I hope to gain more from all who have come or will come and share their experiences. So with that said...I am formally introducing you to someone who will become a 'former' ________________. There is a woman inside waiting to emerge and embrace Excellent Living! ~Lyn T.

In Pre-Op Phase For Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy
I have to do the six month program. I don't mind in that I need to get things together and have time enough for my mom to make arrangements to come stay with me for at least a week. I had my initial consult with the Surgeon and and I will see the Medical Dr. and Nutritionist on 2.27. That appointment marks my 1st month. I will be believing God with you. I could not do this without relying on Him. My mind has turned 180 degrees regarding WLS. I still have an uneasiness because it is major surgery, but I'm still determined!

Biotin- How soon post-op?
I have used Nioxin for years. So I think starting now would not hurt at all. Even when my hair wasn't shedding I continued to use it and it performed wonders for me. I was thinking of purchasing their vitamins as well.

In Pre-Op Phase For Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy
Hi, You write with a positive attitude...which is a great thing. I am excited as well, but I have months to go before even the end of the phase. A fellow Alumnus received her RNY through OSU Medical Program. That was several years ago and she has spoken with me and encouraged me as well. Much success to you and keep us updated. ~Lyn T.

Bariatric Surgery (And After!) On A Budget
I was just thinking about couponing this morning. I also visit Big Lots occasionally and find some great deals. I will now pay more attention to the Protein powders and the like. I did see one by Slim Quick or something like that for $10. Was just wondering if it even tasted good enough to buy. Thanks for the info and please keep them coming.

Well, My Dad's Not Very Happy.
Hi there, You will have to do just what your user name says! Though you do not like what has happened, all things happen for a reason. But don't stop your journey there. It may just lead to a different Avenue. If it brings you back here, it will happen with no stress, no hitches, and no interferences! Much success to you in whatever you do for your health! ~LynT

Anemic
So, I've read in some posts that many are cold after the surgery. I am already cold natured with Iron Deficiency Anemia, have had a transfusion and Iron infusions. Do you think this will be more severe for me after the surgery? I do plan on reminding the office at my next appointment. Any thoughts?
