  1. I am launching a biggest loser challenge at work on April 1. All your ideas are appreciated. So far I am posting the worste take out like from favorite resturaunts. There is a 100 and 5o$ prize for the winners. We have a 2&5K marathon on April 26 which I have 10 dedicated memebers. It is my hope this will kick off with a bang. I have excluded myself from the money but not from leading this challenge. Come on, who knows more about this than us?
  2. Okay here goes. Ive started a biggest loser at work also kicking off April Bobby Hamrick Goal-199 current-233
  3. I know the feeling. Im long since over surgery and 7 fills later. I get the same looks at times. I gained to 237 from 205 after having a discectomy in my lower back. It took a year to heal my leg so i can get back to my running. I took off 50 lbs and is been gone since but everything else I have to work for. Yeah, exercise every week and still watch what I eat. If you dont follow the rules sometimes the band can be difficult. Drink then eat and then dont drink. Very important detail. It will happen once you are filled and the weights coming off. You will see. After years go by though if you arent where you want you have to do the right things. I wished I hadnt told anyone to be honest. I thought like you Id wither away to nothing. This body will fight for its fat content. Make no mistake, its a fight. Good luck and be patient. I wouldnt take anything for my band after all these years!
  4. I have gotten the same answer from personal trainers. Ive also changed my routine to fuctional training. No sitting exercises! Lunges, deadlifts, body squats, dips, pull ups, cardio. This is a new approach and I believe a break through for me. Ill let you know in a couple months.Im sor ein places I didnt know I had!
  5. No I cant eat wings and beer at the same time. And sometimes yeah it gets uncomfortable but not unmanageable. Sometimes the going out isnt so attractive when you consider the situation. This wasnt the case for me until my last fill and I may be a little too restricted but Ive adjusted to a new diat again. New adjustment, new diet. Thats how it is when your restriction starts getting correct.. I wouldnt take anything for my band. 60 plus lbs gone forever. Beer can be tough sometimes and I hate you mentioned it cause it sounds good about now.
  6. I think our bodies initally tries to adjust to the calorie ccut. Ive experienced this too. After a while the lbs go. The problem for me is the energy loss. my last fill my body slowed my metabolism to a halt. Its a struggle to get through a some what normal workout now and I get tired and sleepy a lot. 3 weeks 14 lbs and then 1 lb a week. After 2 weeks no loss following the initial drop
  7. A shake every breakfast for me. With Fiber added and fruit. Containing ny liquid vitamins, flax oil, yogurt. Come on these can be made healthy. Soy milk, all organics, and I always get a bannana a day in this way. I think the fiber really just blows up (psyillium silk powder) which keeps me full 5-6 hours most days. Its taken a long while to master the recipes for me though. All are indeed different. One shake taste like crap to me but good for another.
  8. Back on track and meeting the goals. 13 lbs gone in 23 days. Exercise game is back on too. I bought some of those Bow Flex adjustable dumbbells. Love them. Im up at all hours of the night when the gyms closed so I figured Id try these. Assembly was not that bad. Anyone else got these?
  9. We have pre diets so why not pre-thin sex? Huh??? interesting post !!
  10. Good to see yall, I been here for a while.,Bobby Dalton GA
  11. After a new fill I have to be sure I dont eat several hours before bed... Um really restricted. And hello all again its been a while.I had back surgery and bloomed to 237 lbs! I have lost 20 of that since I can exercise again and now I HAVE A NEW FILL! Just wanted some feedback on the new fill.....
  12. didnt read the other post a straight off answer is no. I have always been parcial to bigger woman and I have not always been big myself. This was even in school and now!
  13. I have read into the Phase 1 of this book. I am impressed. Oprah does the forward. Even with the band we have issues. Right? I am involved with this new program with high hopes. My wife has joined me this time. I have high hopes. Anyone have opinions on this book? There is some solid info there. Also the best life products. Barilla has the new Pasta plus out..Its good and better for you. I hate to say it but I had a severe weight gain over the holidays. Gaine 13 lbs in the last 6 weeks, thats never happened in 3 plus years of being banded. I hurt my back in the gym and had to rest plus got the flu. You see what happened when I didnt exercise? BAM here comes the lbs. With my band restriction I can eat if I have the desire to drink with my meals. I feel Im in a good restriction when Im respecting my tools like the band to help me. Thats why I dont want another fill yet. Lifestyle changes is what I want to cure this weight gain. I completely stopped drinking alchohol. I thought this would be a definate weight loser! Nope, I gained. Maybe I replaced that comfort with food. Obviously huh? Better to not drink. Sober 5 months and counting. A record for me. Anyway I am back on track and have my wide joining me for support now. this could be the recipe for success. Lord knows that recipe has worked for everything else. Thanks folks.
  14. Some great tips mookie. Form is important also not to beat yourself to death. Keeping relaxed. I get a ton of enjoyment. My running has peaks and valleys now. After 3 years. Some weeks I'm all over it 18-20 miles and others its 10-12. I seem to maintain a good cardio status though. I've tried to hold myself true to a weight training routine now in addition to running. I believe youshould keep some good shoes. Like rotate dthes out every 6 months or 8 months especially if you are logging the miles.
  15. Ive used all 3 of these. The elipticle is easier on the joints and I use a heart monitor which I have found the elpticle to be directly compared if not more apt to keep my heart rate up. I enjoy the running more but whenmy joints are sore or even some hip tenderness I go to the elipticle. Ive done this for over 3 years now. I also jog the roads. Since banding I've done 2 marathons too! Good luck.
  16. took a week off. Didnt need but a few days!
  17. Same thing happened to me. I even went back to the Docs office. He chewed me out for eating Tuna and said I was fine. Still some gas I guess!
  18. Keep it up man I'd like to jump in here with you. I'm wondering if I can keep such notes though......!!
  19. Ive worked out since 1993 and I did slip severe into obesity. Since banding Ive returned to it. 3+ years now. I am almost as strongas i used to be. I say that the program above would be a challenge to me and certainly overwhelming to a newbie to fitness. I agree with you all in saying we do have time and can we really afford not to? No we cant. Use your head and listen to your body. One step at a time. heavyweights be careful!!
  20. They would have to fight to take my band back!
  21. I eat a lot less now and I'm exercising. thanks for the compliments. No lies here. Thats what I'd say if I had it to do over!
  22. Can I get some feedback on this. I heard this term used on another thread? Anyone been here?
  23. What cold processed brand do you use and where is some info on this? I'm always looking to improve..
  24. I've always been attracted to heavier women. Its just me. My ex-wife has the band and to be honest she went too far for me. she was lovin it but I was like wait where did my wife go..... There are a lot of us guys who like women with some weight on them. They dont always fes up... So here, here ladies...Dont lose too much!
