  1. Hey if you are going to pay for this thing then by all means do what you like. If it is an insurance deal you need to consider whether or not you ewill be accepted. You are young. Also this is not a magic bullet but a tool for you to use/ there are many reasons we are obese. Genetics, and pschycological reasons, etc..... You know what I mean. There are menay here who find they dont just waste away to nothing after surgery. Some do I didnt. I'm 219 now from 280 really. 08/03 is when I was banded. Ever since September of 03 I been exercising. The last year I've been really active. I have had months with a level weight well really one year I bounced up and down 226-232. Now you may think that isnt much to lose but 50 lbs that stayed gone is good for me. Pick up a 50 dumbbell and tote it a minute you'll see. I had a fill and really started hammering my cardio, like 45 5 times a week. Now I'm 219 or less I hope. Think long and hard. Have you put everything you have into self control and exercise. Surgery is serious business at any time. Is there other reasons or avenues you need to explore first. This was my solution and I am very happy with it so I am not trying to discourage you. Just think about it.
  2. Wonderful group of people here. Ponce and Fromm . Send me an email or message with any questions. I'd do it again with them and wouldnt have it any other way!!
  3. I was walking the local track 2 weeks after surgery. I was jogging like 2 months after and then started weight training and some crunches. I've never been true to the stomach exercises. I have been the last 2 weeks though. I weighed in at 219 lbs. today. Thats empty after a workout but hey I havent seen 2teen anything in many years. I have a good thing going now and I hope I keep it going into 199. I cant even imagine 1anything! It will happen this summer though! Keep moving yall!!
  4. Ah the anxieties. Yes its normal but arent you suppose to be taking it easy for a few weeks? This is a very crucial point in the first stages so be careful. Trust me when you are healed and they put the saline thru! You will not be woofing down food but planning to get what you need by what you can eat. Kiss the lbs good bye. You will have a new diet wait and see. You wont have a choice and guess what. You paid for it! So use it and enjoy it....
  5. The active job helps but as I understand it yes you need the cardi exercise 5 days a week.Once you get started it isnt so bad. You kind of expect it and really if you dont get it you are not happy. I'm not anyway. I been doing this since 9/03. I have had week off here and there and sometimes dread going but I feel so much better. BP is perfect with a resting H.rate of 54BPM. It was at 80 Bpm when I started. I hope I'm saving those beats up for the future!

No If you had your Band removed, would you want a new one if possible?N/A Has anyone maintained weight loss after a full year?Yes/50+lbs I dont know what exactly you wanted here but here is my take. My anxieties about this working or not and getting the restriction correct was the hardest thing for me!
  10. Your decision is your own. I wished I'd neber told one person other than my wife. In one way I feel people think I cheated. Even though they see me running in town all the time or at the gym I still cheated. Oh its easier for you you have that rubber band around your stomach! If it was me I'd keep it to myself and let the compliments come uninhibited!
  11. In a perfect world of eating I would always prepare my food and I know what is good for me and my stomach. I would not attempt to waste anymore money in the restraunts that peddle my demise. I would not try and try again to get food down I know i shouldnt even begin. I would always eat to live not live to eat. Eating would not be a recreation at anytime. After all the time, effort, and money I have spent! Thats in a perfect world. My wants and my will are very strong. We are not perfect and accepting the progress made is accepting ourselves in reality! Thank ya very much! __________________

  13. Congrats and show yourself off. You coma a long way girl!
  14. Anyone have issues with crunches? I decided to finally include this in my routine and I feel that port in my stomach while doing these. not pain but awareness.
  15. In the morning my restriction is at its greatest. I do use the smoothies every morning. You will find the different textures will effect your band as in going down or not and how long they last before you are hungry again. Experiment is all u can do. Muscle Milk is the best for me and Myoplex deluxe....Any EAS product has always been good for me..
  16. I use muscle milk protien pwdr. vanilla or strawberry(perfect texture) 2 strawberrys or half bannana Benefiber mega man vitamin. green tea herb tea spoon mineral oil (things gotta move) tada breakfast!
  17. I still think of going to eat as something to do and half the time its a waste of money. My band is sometimes you feel like nut sometimes you dont. I can pretty much tell though. When I am focused I know hey its time to eat so what can I eat for energy and to pacify me. Something I comprimise with. Like soup with chicken breast in (chicken noodle with a portion of rotisserie chicken in it). I need to eat to live and not eat to sooth or have a past time or hobby! which I dont now well not all the time or even 30% of it. Breakfast is my health start. Protien Shake with all the Herbs and fiber put in for the day. Fiber is a big problem for me as in not getting it in. I'm very restricted now. I use a juicer too! Used to I'd eat at a buffet and like 3 plates plus desert and coffee. Not anymore even if I wanted to try it! The band can be forgiving sometimes but not forgotten!!! one plate if I am lucky and some Ice cream later!
  18. .68 is mine @82 weeks. Several ups and downs. Only downs for the last while. I see like 215 very soon!
  19. My weight was 221 today. Thats a loss but remember I went on vacation. South Beach Miami for a week. Only exercised 2 times while there. Pinicoladas, MArgaritas, you know! I'm very happy to still be on track. I am still running 3 miles 5 days a week at the minimum and sometimes more. I am trying to be more involved with lifting but it just isnt what it used to be for me. I do lift and cover all groups in a week but not with passion I had 10 years ago! I'd love to hear routines from some of the guys here/ :ninja
  20. I have a vigorous excercise routine and I can take some blame for diet. 222 now! 276 before 08/03. Its getting on off.
  21. 222 now and the loss has slowed down now. I am still on the mission and losing since my last fill and I mean the last fill. I know now what restriction is. I had to change my diet again. For the good. I dont even try and eat when I wake up. It is coffee and a protien shake(Mothers Milk) then off to the gym. A few hours later I can eat. I can eat many things yet small portions. Its going well though.
  22. You will learn to eat again. Very easy and very slowly. Once you do the lbs will fly off. The first week is very rough with soreness and gas and that strange feeling in your stomach. Be patient.
  23. you are new. sounds like i aint the only one on soup. I do chk. noodle a lot
  24. With a new fill recently I have revisited learning to eat. I am really restricted here and have to be careful. Some things I do. Scrambled eggs smothered in instant gravy. with sweat creamy coffee!(one of my fav's here. cottage cheese with the new dole peaches in the plastic jar. Yoplait smoothies(300 cal.) Lots of yogurts. Mothers Milk protien pwdr. This feeds my work out. Juicing 3 times a week. Broccoli stalk carrots. V8 2 cups every day Oatmeal(cooked) 1 cup with 2-3 egg whites chopped fine with honey. great but sounds rough. I know you have some wierd things and combos so lay it out. This diet is really working for me. I can sometimes get the tuna down but I miss my meat. Its ben really cut back.
  25. May 25th I'll be 35 and it would thrill me to break into the 199lb mark. That is 27lbs. A big order I know. I have a new fill and got the exercise machine in over drive! :banana
