So Worried About Throwing Up
i live two hours away as well.. on a bad road. ive been banded now nearly 3 months and ive been sick twice. its no big deal really... certainly nothing to get so worried over.It was entirely my fault and i learned from it. Actually i knew beforehand and wasnt obedient. If you do what you know to do... very small bites, chew, chew, chew, then you shouldnt have any problems with vomiting at all.. I certainly never had any issues with my band.... its still in place and working really well. dont worry about it... just know that you are in control of all this. You can prevent it from happening if you do the right things. Vomiting wont happen unless you do the wrong thing.

This Might Be A Stupid Question...
every dr is different. ive got a 10 cc band in and there was no fill in it when i had it implanted. others here have had some fill though so it depends on who you have to do the op. personally i didnt have any problems with no fill at surgery date. i think my lapband hell period was about the same as everyone elses... no worse .

Port Location???
thats where mine is also. i found it quite uncomfortable for about a month. now im losing more weight around the waist and im still wearing the larger size pants its not so bad. next week it will be a bit sore again though. Last fill it was sore for a few days, i had to put some padding in the waist band in that area.

Drinking
im over two months post op and i still have to be wary of how big a mouthful, even with liquids. you should be able to increase but it wont be ''sculling' like you perhaps used to. sometimes when im really thirsty i have to make a real effort to slow down with my drink.

Eating 6 Meals A Day
i feel the same way. i figure im better off being happy with my diet,(that includes a few Snacks ) and losing a little less. its coming off but not as quickly as it could. i dont mind that at all and i dont look on the band as being a hard task master at all.

Embarrssing Bathroom Issue
i know this subject isnt a nice one but we all have to go through it. I strongly suggest that you buy some glycerine suppositaries. that will help you. if you are already taking some bowel tabs the suppositaries will help to get you moving initially. just have some disposable rubber gloves and its easy to treat yourself. ive been doing it now for a long time. i dont believe in taking way too many tabs.. eventually you are going to have a bad episode of diarreah. treating with the suppositary is much better.. and just continue to take your bowel meds at a normal dose.

Hernia Repair? Feeling Good
well... for the last couple of years i had ''indigestion'' nearly all the time. I would suffer with esophageal reflux a lot and if it were bad enough i would vomit. Mind you, i always loved to eat spicy foods and did wonder if that was contributing.i always had pain in my area where the pouch is now... so it would have been at the bottom of my esophagus, around the top of my stomach. if not a pain then it would 'ache' is the best way to put it. when i got stressed it felt so bad. it was when i was online here at the forum that i realised that perhaps i did have a hiatus hernia. this was before i was banded. i was reading how others were experiencing problems and many of them were like mine. So.. when i had my first visit with the dr about banding i mentioned that i thought i had a hernia, and sure enough i did have. Now i have none of the symptoms at all... its a wonderful feeling. the only discomfort i get is if i dont eat properly. lol.

Fills
it could have been some sort of freeze spray that my dr used, but on a gause dressing. i know that i never felt it and it was instant. i just had to raise my head off the bed so my tummy was strained and the port was there to see.

Questions
i certainly didnt need an ice pack. i remember, the dr asked me to raise my head off the bed. He put a swab on my port, whipped it off again and within 3 seconds i had a painless fill. it was that quick. no ice pacs.. a little bit of discomfort at night but nothing much at all....its a breeze.
