  1. sounds okay. but all drs are different. i was not allowed baked potatoes or peanut butter on my mushy/real soft foods. also include sf applesauce, sf popsicles and sf pudding. just a little bit more and you will move on to different foods. stick to it the best you can. i lived on tuna w/ff mayo and refried beans and (i didnt have chicken salad until 3 weeks post op so ask ur dr for specifics) doing great. just keep hanging in there.
  2. sneezing toddy? that is your signature now GF
  3. you will kha, you will experience that (and more or different) soon enough. i guess we are all different. but the small hiccup is what lets me know, hey woman, your done. i can eat 1/2-3/4 and that is it at the moment. i make an effort not to go over that amount. (dont worry about resturants and what could or couldnt happen). just focus on getting there with the band and getting it. you have a great attitude. you will succeed.
  4. (me too after about 1/2 cup. like after a thanksgiving dinner. you couldnt eat another bite). what a great feeling huh?
  5. 8 bags of 5lb sugar from me
  6. Karen, thank you for a wonderful response to me. that means so much to me. I am trying very hard. I really am. Just watching/listening to my body for all signs. Thank you again (((hugs))))
  7. Being newly banded w/plication (but not yet filled) I can tell when I am full or had enough to eat by my bodys (signs of fullness). Mine are small hiccups or a small burp. What are your signs of being full or had enough to eat?
  8. i have been heavy and then lost it all and of course regained. my hub desired me regardless. i felt better about (ME) when i lost weight and felt more (alive). by dressing up and be more outgoing. i feel men are attracted to women for many different reasons. but real men are attracted to (a woman) because of whom she is. not her size. and that goes for a woman also. i could be a size 2, gorgeous 6ft blonde w/big fake boobs but a attitude like my sheet dont stink or something, yeah i am hot but a horrible person. all in the eyes of the (beholder). your wife loves YOU. and you love HER. per marriage vows, better or worse/sickness and health..
  9. the hardest thing to do is take the first step and you have. well done. now begin your journey. the past is gone and never to return. not even with a magic wand. just stay focused and be positive.
  10. hi shan, congrats on your surgey and i hope you are doing well
  11. hey, dont give up...you are this close...
  12. i am in raleigh and had surgery in june. how are you??
  13. just cut food in small/diced sizes. chew to your hearts content. go slow (with eating/drinking) and you will be fine. don't worry about things you dont have to at this time. Keep a positive mind set and remember you are doing this for you
  14. raleigh nc at your service darling. make a list of questions you want to ask and cover any qualms you have or dont have. just relax and go at your pace. this is YOU. do not ponder about bobby joe curly joe moe's weight loss. this is your pace. sf pop sicles saved me as well as my Protein shakes. the worst is nearly over ............trust me.
  15. hi rand i was banded on the 6th and am recovering well. i am sure you are also. what part are you tired of? trust me, we all have been there. just stay on the liquids and do what the dr says. remember you are so still just outta surgery that you are healing now. do not worry about (losing/gaining). once you are off the liquids, the mushies/real soft foods come along and you will feel more human again (i know i did and drove ms jean batty). i can feel my plication only because at around 1/2 to 3/4 cup of what i am eating i am full ---which is what it is suppose to do. the band is not filled yet and i may get a smidge in august at my 2nd month follow up. right now you just need to rest and finish up with the dr orders. how much longer on the liquids?
  16. james, i hit that mark last friday......what a wonderful feeling. Congrats
  17. you are my inspiration. thank you for writing from your heart jim. so proud of you and the weight loss.
  18. best of luck honey. you will do fine.
  19. oh yeah. walmart has shakes called extreme whey (15 container) instead of 30 at bariatric center. 30 grams of Protein per scoop (mix w/ff milk add 8 more) or Water. both delish. many flavors i mix mine and put in freezer to reach nearly frozen or slush and it is like a thick milkshake. i swear if it wasnt for this shake, i would not have been able to do the pre/post op (each 2 week all liquids) diets. now i can add fruit or a small dose of pnut butter . but each to their own. hope this helps.
  20. I think as long as we continue to lose (slow or fast), that is a good thing and we should focus on that. (remember, it did not just surprise us one night and the next morning we woke up fat/obese or whatever). it will come off 1/4 pound at a time, the same we gained it. all the best to you
  21. well apparently the band doesnt hate you. it saved your life.
  22. Outstanding and exactly what needed to be said.
  23. ice cream and chips/dip? i am sure it ok to eat small amounts of these type foods but these type foods are what caused us to get (fat/overweight/obese) anyhow not only do we change what/how much we eat but our way of thinking.
  24. my dr told me if he operated and my liver was too large, he wouldnt operate. so i followed my 2 weeks pre op as directed because i was afraid he wouldnt do it. when i woke up, that was the first thing i asked him, how was my liver. please follow your dr orders as they are there for a reason. (before and esp after surgery) am sure you are fine but remember these liquid diet days are for a short period of time. you can do this.
