  1. i for some reason am the point leader..i had to ask what that meant not too long ago as i had no idea. and yes, i spend alot of time on here and it has helped me come this far in losing weight.
  2. ok, another entry into the silliness category. picture it. I am about 5'2 on a good day. 8 months ago, the skirts I wore to work came to just below my knees. flash forward to present day. my skirts (the ones that I can still wear (the ones with a belt or a cinch section as the rest are toooo big) are now dragging the ground. why is that..how come....am I shrinking? hub gets a big kick on that as I am not that tall as it is and now if i am not careful on some skirts, i could trip myself and fall down a staircase. so the best i can make out is......the skirts had to go around the massive girth called my stomach and hence the shortness of the skirt....now that the massive girth is visiting my inlaws, the skirt length seems to be (growing downward) instead of around-ward (yes making up words as i go). so here i sit, looking at my skirt and going, isnt that kewl..another sign (without using a scale) to show that my band/plication is working.
  3. keep up the great work terry
  4. AJ what can i say that others havent already said oh yeah, YOU GO GIRL
  5. my numbers (refer) to my friends i found on this forum. my friends....that number helps me stay on course and true to myself and def keeps on my toes. nothing like getting threatened for them to come visit me and whip my hiney if i dont get off my whiney wagon...i have found my strength in the number of friends i made on this forum. with them and the band, i cant lose.
  6. just keep moving (and taking the pain meds) to help..each day gets better. just stay the course and congrats on your surgery. this is your year.
  7. i do (and did) with the dry mouth.not sure why. i just started to drink (more) and it seemed to help with the dry mouth part. as for the bad breath, i dont know (hadnt scared hub off yet) but i do brush alot anyhow so i may not have noticed..
  8. right now (its all i can do) but i do it, i walk. because of my (size at the beginning of my saga) and my knees, i cant walk far but i am not up to 2 blocks a day and i just walk.. my street that i walk on, goes up hill to my house. and boy can my mammoth thighs feel it..it too me alot to get to be able to even walk 1/2 block. i know each step gets me closer......to better health. ps: since i cant (exercise like some) i am very aware of my caloric intake. 3500 cals is a pound ate or drank. so i am careful to not take in more cals then i can burn off.
  9. I think a loss is a loss as i see it.....if you are adhering to the band rules in regards to eating the proper portions, the better food choices and letting the band help you and also, realizing 3500 cals is a pound whether its ate or drank and to not take in more then you burn off, then you are doing great. if you are losing inches, clothes getting bigger, then its working. the scale goes up and down all day long. just because the scale is not moving quickly, I am sure its working. hang in there. I just know you will continue to lose.
  10. my nut advised me to eat items (all) in portions.....but after the band and realizing protein filled me up and made me not eat as much (and kudo's for my band helping me also) i choose now to not eat un filling foods like rice/pasta/bread/potatos. i eat lean meats/fruit/veggies which fill me up. it works for me. good post.
  11. my dr told me when I woke up that I had one. I did not even know I had one. wasn't even sure what it was. but he fixed it and I am happy about that.
  12. I just walk.......get out there (with my hub and Dobermans) and just walk...after not being able to for 1 to 2 yrs, its wonderful to get out and be outside and walking...
  13. yes, living life better with the band...its great now, its only getting better.
  14. i am not worried about what may happen down the road. i will deal if and when it comes up that there is a problem. to my knowledge and from what my dr said, my band (dixie) will be with me forever. thank heavens for that as i on my way.....
  15. when i do eat it (its those cute little mini's) 100 cal ones (easy to take into movie theaters also) ...yeah i know bad CG
  16. i know ms rhonda i said i would not post on your threads but again please listen..if you are hurting or in pain, please call and or go see your doctor so they can advise you. PS: getting the band or any WLS is not a walk in the park. its not easy as some think it is. it was major surgery. i suggest you talk to your doctor. your health is what is important.
  17. i have so many...gosh i am guessing 25 or so.....you name a spot, its most likely inked hub is the same and my son is inked pretty well...i just have always liked them...i got my first one at 18. and i am always thinking of getting one LOL
  18. what kind do you have? plans for anymore??
  19. well bless your heart...its pretty hard and embarrassing to write i was nearly as wide as i was tall and that my arms had trouble going around me, but its the truth..i had to face truth, face reality to accept what is before i could make that change...and how after the band, again accept responsibility for following the rules or not...my band gave me my life back....eryn's meme is rocking it
  20. the band has not took away my craving or took away my hunger...my plication and band has helped me eat less. i must be dumb as i dont know what question you are asking exactly so forgive me now for appearing as such
  21. like mis when the dr goes inside, he will know...that is why its important to follow the pre op diet rules...my dr said if he went inside, and my liver wasnt shrunk enough, he wouldnt do the surgery. that right there scared me enough to make sure i followed the rules.
  22. well that hurt.....boo hooo
