  14. speaking for me, absolutely...my dr put primer in, i have no idea how much and i have plication...those 2 combined give me restriction...at 1 to 1 1/2 cup, it is 100% clear i am restricted...to the point of uncomfortable...why i stop at 1 cup....i let the band work..its not magic..i dont expect the band to do everything....my dr told me for this to work i have to let it work and help it by eating my allotted amounts and good quality foods.
  15. i dont have a fill but i eat as though i do... i am very aware of what i eat (the type foods) and the amounts. i know 3500 cals is a pound...and because i am not a marathon runner, i am careful to not take in more cals then i burn off..i also stop eating at 1 cup of food and i eat lean Protein, veggies and fruit. if i eat it, its gonna be filling. as missy stated, you eat over 3500 cals a day and dont burn it off, you will gain or not lose..fill or no fill...just my opinion.
  16. missy what a wonderful comment from you, thank you for including me in it.
  17. yeah, i am feeling good....yall enjoy sam w/me

  20. because i am too ashamed to go to a (gym) ..odd its a place you dont see many obese people......hm.... i just walk.....first i started at night so no one would see me now i walk in the day time. (with hub and dobermans as company) and when i get my distant built up, like B52, i will bring sammy hagar and van halen with me.
  21. from livestrong.com: Muscle is heavier by volume -- or more dense -- than fat. Muscle does not weigh more than fat, since 5 lbs. is 5 lbs. Read more: http://www.livestron.../#ixzz2KggurpSB
  22. i found out that head hunger was real on my pre op diet....i just thought i was hungry when other ate, when i smelled food or when i was bored. i learned quickly that if i drank something, my so called hunger usually went away. but in some cases, if i am truly hungry (and there is a difference) i learned to eat. much like a baby. they eat when hungry and then push the bottle away when full...
  23. you and i were banded about the same time. and i recall reading your posts and blogs. i hope nothing i say offends you. so forgive me if i do. we all have been there but going back to drinking protein shakes (will help in the beginning but you cannot live on shakes for ever) but really eating food to lose weight is best. 3500 is a pound whether its ate or drank. and if you take in more calories than you burn off, you will gain (or not lose). def eat 1 cup of food per meal..(protein first option and then veggie/fruit).. def need to stay away from processed items (as that has salt and that is a water retainer)....if you can, eat more foods to fill you up. and drink ALOT. (to me, eating bread is not a filling item..you can eat the chicken and burger but leave off the bread..just MOO) i cant exercise like some because of my bad knees so i have to be aware of my calorie intake but i do try to eat high protein/very fill my tummy up foods. and you being on your feet every day teaching is a wonderful thing. and trying to lose 60 pounds in 4 months is way way too much. if you dont get there, i am afraid you will be upset. how about just losing weight without putting a number on it...just do the best you can. you can do this. the band is there and its working. now you just need to help it along
