  1. i think you must (want) it bad enough (to lose weight aka lap band) to do everything you can to make it work. if you dont want it bad enough to follow the band (or other wls guidelines) you most likely wont be successful.
  2. i wouldnt...i got mine before i got over 300 and now that i am way back down, they are fine(got on both inner writs/inner forearms)...yeah, i am pretty inked allover
  3. either option is a good one granted the person uses the tool as instructed.
  4. like my girl patts, i use ff skim and whey extreme from walmart in chocolate...i drink one daily and i love knowing i am getting that extra 28 grams protein in me..and i like it because it tastes good......i love putting in freezer and making my own version of wendys frosty...
  5. just hang in there...even if the scale is not showing a loss or moving to your liking, its working and its there....i know you are doing so great..keep head up GF

  8. completely normal. i referred to this as band blues...it lasted a couple days..mainly because i spent the days in the potty LOL but it does get better. i pinky swears.
  9. well, we are getting there. now that i look at it, i am going DAYUMMM......i recall the 5 stages of fatness by gabriele iglesious. i must the dayumm category. so close to the 100 pound mark. i hope tomorrow i cross that threshold.
  10. well, its major surgery so its gonna hurt a smidge. def uncomfortable as you are swollen inside and need to heal. every day its gonna get better. so def need to find a positive attitude although right now its just crummy feeling. been there. regret what? that you made a decision to make yourself well... hopefully that feeling will go away. hang in there.
  11. here is a picture of me and my hub in a skirt i was wearing 8 months ago.. we (both fit in it) nearly at the 100 mark..
  12. i did the chili thing (i put in my vitamixer to smush) it to smooth....
  13. agree with missy, this is something for your surgeon to know and evaluate how to proceed...also, i have anti naus med on hand just in case...something you may want to see if your doctor can give you a rx for. hope you feel better but def call dr and let them know.
  14. well, my dr told me to stay away from slim fast and i also do not like the milky tasting stuff. that being said, Protein shakes are a superb way to get your protein in. you will just need to buckle down and find a shake that you like to help with this pre and post op phase. (i use whey extreme from walmart in chocolate) and it is delicious. i even put in freezer to make my own version of a wendys slush.. find what works for you as you are the one who has to do this.
  15. head hunger, i found out during my pre op stage was a real thing...i also found out that i thought i wanted to eat when other people were, when i was bored or sitting around...its something that i have to this day. how do i deal? if i think i am hungry, i drink something. usually that works. if i am truly hungry i eat.
  16. your note was very sweet (thank you). here i am going (gosh look how much farther i have to go) and a wonderful few posts from people make my success even sweeter
  17. 4 protein shakes a day (SF popsicles, broth, soup) for two 1/2 weeks before surgery and all liquids for 2 weeks after..
  18. same here summer, i use a (saucer plate). and man when i eat it seems like so much..i think, like you, seeing a plate regular size, i go wow..and to think i would 2 or 3 of those at one time...thanks for a great post.
  19. 8 months and cant hardly see them...like daisy, i wear them and am okay with it
  20. wow do you ever look great and hub does too thank you for taking time out to share your weekend with us. more vino
  21. its hard to do the pre op, i also was on liquids for 2 weeks prior..the only tip i can offer is to believe in yourself..right now being on the pre or post op seems like forever, but with each day that passes, its closer to being over...the thing that saved me was drinking alot and SF popsicles.. hang in there, you can do it, if you WANT to
  22. if you take in more calories then you burn off, you will gain or not lose. sounds like you are doing great with the exercising so keep it up. even if the scale is not moving, i promise the band is working..(i dont use a scale, so i go by how lose my clothes are to see that its working). great job all around
