  1. Because you can't be on an appetite supressant forever right? If we could just eat less we wouldn't be here would we? I think you've answered your own questions and know what the right thing to do it..The sleeve is a tool that will help you forever but it is work and you have to be willing to put in the work as well..It's not a magic cure or a magic pill..good luck to you.
  2. Welcome Shelly and congrats on your surgery date! I was sleeved April 2nd and went back to work 2 weeks later..I sit at a computer all day and did fine..I had no problems with my energy level, I guess the protein shakes help with that, not sure..but I did well..good luck to you..
  3. I quit smoking 2 months before surgery on April 2nd and also have hypothyroidism and hoshimoto's disease..I have lost 38 lbs so far, so I'm right there with ya!! Congrats..
  4. I am just wondering, how many of you who have lost a significant amount of weight or have met your goal weight, did so by exercising? I'm curious if anyone has lost their weight without exercising? I've been trying to get some exercise in but just haven't been feeling motivated enough lately, I know it will help with my weight loss and I wish I could find the energy and motivation but I just don't have it right now..Thanks..
  5. Sleeved on April 2nd, stats below..
  6. Absolutely! I am 2 1/2 months out and I get full after a few bites...
  7. Yes, I felt the same way..I was so nervous and excited at the same time. Those feeling probably won't go away until about a week or 2 after surgery, but now I'm 2 1/2 months out and very happy I did it..
  8. I'm 2 1/2 months out and losing about the same..
  9. My surgery was on April 2nd, I am doing well as well...congrats on your weight loss, that is awesome..I've only lost 38 lbs since surgery but I have a lower BMI so I'm not too bummed about it yet..So far I haven't had any problems with food either and have never thrown up once, luckily..Hopefully by this time next year we will be at goal weight! good luck..
  10. I've been taking the Citracal petites since I was 3 weeks out..
  11. My doctor said we had to quit smoking 2 months before surgery..I quit in January, but I still use the e-cig...
  12. Take it very slow...You need to give your new sleeve time to heal..I had to do 3 weeks of liquids, so I know it's hard. The biggest concern my doctor said was throwing up while your still healing, so try to stick to the liquids and yogurt for however long your surgeon suggested..
  13. My best advice is to do what your body tells you to do...If you need to sleep, sleep, if your up to it, walk...I slept a lot the first week...Just worry about getting liquids in and resting for the first week or 2..
  14. Same here Queen, I was sleeved April 2nd and I'm only down 35 pounds and I eat the same amount of calories as you...My Dr says it's because my BMI was on the lower side, but I still want to lose faster!
  15. Take smaller sips..I had the same problem the first week and someone told me to take smaller sips and never had the chest pain after..
  16. I take 1000 mg daily of the Biotin, but I know people who are taking 5000 mg a day..Apparently you can't take too much, you will just pee it out, so I might up mine alittle bit...
  17. I'm having the same problem. I've been using miralax and just started eating prunes, seems to be helping alittle.
  18. I am 8 weeks post op, and I felt just like you do the first week..The first week was the hardest and kind of like, WTF did I do feeling...I promise you it will get better..After about 4 weeks I felt great and now I sometimes forget that I even had surgery..Hang in there, it will get better..The first week will soon be a distant memory for you..
  19. That's amazing results! I was sleeved on 4/2 and I'm down 34 lbs..I'm a slow loser, but I'll take it..
  20. My Dr said to let them fall off and NOT to pull them off..He took them off at my 2 week post op appt because they were barely hanging on..
  21. Are you taking Biotin? I know there are shampoos that are suppose to help with hair growth, ie: F.A.S.T. or Garlic shampoo (smells delicious don't worry) and I think the other one is called Biotene or something, you can look into..I'm 8 weeks out, haven't started losing too much yet but I'm very worried about it so I started using this stuff now..good luck..
  22. OMG so true! I've been hooked on the Special K chips because they are "light" and low calorie, I need to get rid of them and not buy them anymore! Thanks for posting..
  23. Wow, good for you and congratulations! I felt horrible the first week, so I'm glad your doing so well..
  24. You better prepare yourself now for stalls, because they WILL happen..I'm 8 weeks out and I stall like every other week for about 2 weeks at a time..It's very frustrating and I'm doing everything right, but it still happens..Luckily though the scale eventually goes down again and I just try to think of it as pounds lost forever, where in the past, it would go up, go down, go up, go down and then I would give up..Now I can't give up and hopefully a year from now I will be at my goal weight forever!
