Nicotine question please
I know how you feel, my oxygen levels were so low after surgery that they had to put me in ICU..I had trouble breathing for about a week, and it was scary..I'm sure 30 years of smoking was the culprit, even though I had quit 2 months before..Good for you that your not smoking though, keep it up..

food and guilt.. am I the only one who feels guilty after eating, after being sleeved?
Did you only eat the broth? If not are you allowed the other stuff this early out? I could only have liquids for 3 weeks but every surgeon's plans are different..If so then dont' feel guilty, as long as you tolerated it ok..I wish I knew when the hunger hormone would be gone because I am 5 weeks out today and I still feel hunger! Good luck to you on your journey..and just follow your Dr's plan so that you recover well..

You guys are still very early out, it does test your patience and endurance. Just keep sticking to the plan and it will come off..A pound a day is amazing so don't be so hard on yourself.Today I finally started soft foods, each stage gets better and better..I was on liquids for 3 weeks after surgery, so I KNOW how hard that is, but hang in there, the end results will be worth it..You need to give your stomach time to heal properly..I am a slow loser and get very frustrated myself, but I try to keep telling myself it will happen, I just have to be patient, but it's not easy..Sunday I went to my first wedding post op and that really tested my endurance. The only thing I could eat there was a few bites of mashed potatoes and I couldn't drink either, so it was very hard but then instead of feeling sorry for myself I began to feel empowered, knowing that I could NOT cheat even if I wanted to, which is what I would have done in the past if I was on a regular diet, so I just got up and danced and enjoyed the day, but the smells of food were torture..LOL..good luck everyone, we can do it...It gets better every day..

Nicotine question please

Hi MIrrim....I can't really think of anything I could or would have done differently that would have prepared me anymore..I had been preparing for over a year..Besides the normal pain from surgery and recovering from that, I think the biggest thing for me that is hard to prepare for was the mental part of it that I wasn't expecting..But now, looking back, I really think that also has a lot to do with just no feeling well from surgery, cause you feel terrible the first week and then also have to deal with not eating food and keeping track of everything was hard on me too when I wasn't feeling well..example, crushing up all my meds all day and making sure to get them down, figuring out how much protein, liquid, etc to get in, it was just all so overwhelming when your not feeling well...NOW, I am 4 weeks out and I feel great, and forget that I even had surgery...Honestly, its kind of like having a baby, it sucks when your going through it, but then you forget about it, I can barely even remember how I felt that first week, if I didn't have my story to read, I wouldn't even remember that, honestly..You will do great, the first week may be tough, but just keep telling yourself that everyday will get better and better and it will only be a memory...good luck to you..

Puree recipes. HELP NEEDED! Please help. Need recipe ideals. So lost. Please let me know you favorite recipe!
Just check if you are allowed meats on the pureed stage, I am not...I have to do 2 weeks of soft pureed, like cottage cheese, pudding, etc..Then 2 weeks of thick purees, just check what your guidelines are first...Love the recipes, I printed it out and will definitely be using it, thanks!
