Steri strips

My dr told me I could remove my steri strips 3 days post op. So, 4 days post op I started taking one off and I saw some of my belly fat peeking around the incision. It wasn't infected, just looked gross so I stopped. When did everyone else remove their strips or did y'all wait until they fell off?

My surgeon told me to let them fall off on their own. I'd be hesitant to pull them off before they're ready because you might interrupt the newly forming tissue.

My doc's office said to let them fall off on their own, but it's ok to trim them if they are catching on things like your clothes.

They told me i could take them off whenever so after i took my first shower i took them off and it was fine
