  1. Sasha & grandma13 I am 6 weeks out from surgery and I had no problems with fluids starting in post op. I slugged 3 one oz med cups of Water like I was in a bar and the nurses freaked! I got home at 2:00 that day and got 50 oz of water in before bed! Like 1shauna1 said, unless it is glasses of fat the water is good!!! Keep up the good work!
  2. As long as you have a healthy scoop of protein powder in the shakes, they are quite filling!
  3. TCBY has soft serve 0 fat low cal yogurts! Also, Ben and Jerry's have lower cal and higher protein frozen yogurts and 1/4 c is only about 100 calories. THey are just as good as regular Ben & Jerry's
  4. YAY for you! Congrats. Enjoy this success!
  5. I had surgery March 20> I tried to go to work on the 26th and couldn't: pain, tiredness, etc. I only made it a few hours on the 27th, 28th and 29 then went back on April 2. i wish I had taken that second week off.
  6. Good luck Bel12, I was just banded in march but my brother got his 8 years ago and my brother-in-law 4 years ago. They both say you only spit up if you eat too fast or take too big of a bite of food. Both say it is not what unbanded folks think "throwing up" is. One of them CAN eat salad, the other CAN'T. It is really individual. This website is an awesome resource. And lots of folks will answer any questions you have. Not everyone's hair falls out, and if some does - it WILL grow back as long as your nutritional intake is a good balance.
  7. Doctors all differ, Mine had me do clear liquids 3-4 days, then all liquids to two weeks out, then mushy foods for two weeks (the instruction here was anything i can smuch with my tounge or chew lightly), next two weeks soft foods (anything I can cut with a fork - no knives!). Then on to regular foods. So a 6 week routine.
  8. Go into the food and recipe section and search. There are tons there! Good luck
  9. I am on mushies now and I puree lots of different thing. Easter dinner was about 2 1/2 tablespoons of purer and 1/2 reviled egg. My dochas me onthis for one more week whichwill be4 weeks post op
  10. Waiting patiently I had half of one deviled egg and purred applesauce with a bit of ham and 2 beans from. 3 bean salad! Happy Easter all! At least I wasn't miserable after dinner like everyone else.
  11. You can make your own with protein powder. There are lots of good recipes on this site and tons on the Internet. I get the vanilla whey powder at walmart and it's not too bad.
  12. BREATHE, slowly just breathe. It will be OK. LB is very safe! We will be here waiting to hear how well it all goes
  13. THAT IS SO AWESOME! Congrat's and wherever you spend Easter you will surely be the "hit" of the party!
  14. I used to set my clock by Dt Pepsi. I thought it would impossible to live without. I weaned my self down and had my "last" diet pepsi the day before my pre-surgery liquid diet. I haven't even noticed it is gone! I drink a ton of water and some of the 20 oz single drink packets (crystal light, dt snapple) but dilute them in 32 oz water. I do some of the Dt Gatorade (G2). The G2 in the 32 oz is good the G2 in 24 oz is very salty!
  15. Thanks for the words of encouragement from the long term bandsters. I have started at 5 minutes on the treadmill but it is murdering me!
  16. Brandi, my surgery was on the 20th too. I feel exactly the same, I keep hoping when I switch to mushies I'll get more energy.
  17. I took off Tuesday (day of surgery) to Monday. Ended up home Monday too, then only could do limited hours Tues Wed & Thurs. i was SO tired. i came home and napped every day. Tomorrow is two weeks, and today I worked a full 8 + .75 hours.
  18. Bandster hell for sure. I switch to mushies tomorrow - YAY! It has been an incredibly long 4 weeks of liquids. If we can follow the liquid diet for a month, we can follow the band rules and meet our weight loss nad health goals!!!
  19. I add protein powder to pudding mix and use a little less skim milk that the box calls for. I had some vanilla sugar free pudding with vanilla protein powder that ended up tasting like vanilla cake batter ~ UMMMM, so good. I am on to mushies tomorrow but have really struggled getting my protein in too.
  20. I make sugar free pudding with a scoop of protein powder. The vanilla is sweet, some of the chocolate is less sweet. Last batch was banana cream and that really was a treat! I also eat low or no fat cottage cheese, loaded with protein!
  21. <3 Ky <3 - I just got below 50!!! Barely, but below!
  22. I have a pretty stressful desk job, I had surgery Tuesday and tried to go back the next Tuesday. I was absolutely inundated with verbal info when I walked in and stayed for 4 hours. I had to nap when I got home. It is not the pain, but fatigue. Also, at about 3 1/2 hours yesterday, my port area really started to hurt. It is still really sore today. Maybe because I am sitting up. I try to walk alot but have been on the phone TOO MUCH. Unfortunately, most calls have sensitive client information so i cannot do too much on speaker phone. Maybe i ma just a baby. I wish I had planned for 2 weeks off.
  23. Wow, I am such a baby! Banded on the 20th. Went to work today, only made it 4 hours. I have a desk job, and was inundated with information the minute I walked in the door! I have been mostly pain free since last Friday, and at 3 1/2 hours my port incision started hurting like crazy. By the time I left I was in pretty bad pain. I don't know why that happened but I figured I stayed 1/2 hour too long! Do not fret though, I am going back tomorrow!!
