2. i totally do the same thing, but into a napkin when i can lol ive lost some of my manners too. i burp like i man now!
3. number one: youre being banded on my birthday! two: youre youngenough that the skin should retract, if youre really worried so some extra strenght building when you get to the icky skin part three:liquid diet is the worst in the first 3 days. i cryed. after teh 3 days its fine, just stay away from food. it got to the point where i just didnt eat i also had a BMI around 41 when i was banded (aug 8th) and dont worry about being young, im 16
4. i totally understand. ive been overwieght since kindergarden. i am scarred to death that im going to be 'skinny' and still be ugly. i dont think i could take it. but i mean ive never seen my real face so to speak. im almost 17 years old and i really want to see it, but ive talked to some people that i trust about my fear and they dont think ill be ugly at least... but i guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
5. my doctor told me that if you dont eat enough protien your hair will fall out in clumps, that happened to a friend who had gastric bypass done too. lets just say that was enough to scare me into eating protien
6. yesterday was 600 warm up (this is all swimming i have you know) 6x75 IM order, 2 choice (IM is all 4 strokes) 4x25 turns 4x25 sprints then sprint 200 yds (yes this is at a swim meet) and i lost 3 seconds for this year race 500 yds, lost 7 seconds 100 spint... really bad lol 300 warm down 2.5 hours of practice today too
7. banded for just about 2 months now, getting close to having lost 40lbs! im a senior in High School and in the 49014 area
8. you have to wait a month?! i had to wait 2 weeks and i was swimming for sport already
9. banded Aug 8th and down 30lbs! i was talking to my friend today who exclaimed "you lost a small child!"
10. monday, tuesday, & thursday - 3.5 hours of swimming

wednesday &friday- 2.5 hours swimming

sat. about an hour of swimming (each day with upwards of 5000 yards!)
11. yes, swimming is an awesome way to boost the weight loss, im on my high schools swim team and we are in season right now... sucky set yesteday of 6 X 400 (4 of them striaght free, 2 of them IM)
12. just banded a month and 7 days ago, and down 27 lbs!
13. alright so i just got my first fill on the 29th of aug. in the first week i lost 8 lbs. ive been eating around 800 cals a day, but i think the big thing is that i have swim practice 3 hours a day, where i burn about 1500 cals (an approx from the coach) so i know the excersize is a HUGE thing that helps bost the weigt loss
14. ok first of all, youre the one that will be out there working your butt off (litterly) and you shouldnt be embarrassed. you cares if they have an issue? they havnt gone though half the things you have to get this band. and i have to be in a swim suit... yes a swim suit everyday. but guess what, ive only had one fill that was last thursday (not yesterday, the thursday before) and because of my swim practice i have already lost 9 lbs! in oone week! so dont be embarrassed... its just a small step towards a new life
15. so i first read this, and people saying it was dumb and i was offended, because i was banded last wednesday and im only 16. then i watched the video, what an idiot. the mother saying she can only eat so much? bull... we all know we just have to drink a lot when we eat, it will send everything down the stomach and nothing will matter. and that kid is never going to learn anything with that kind of mother, i mean you have to address the compulsive eating before anything else. and to the lady with the 13 year old, there are 7 centers though out the US that have the special FDA thing. i know two are in new your city, ones in ohio, and I am apart of one that is in Chicago. they are all awesome programs and they wont let you be banded unless you have changed those eating habits, because they know the band doesnt do anything but put yuo in danger if you over eat persistantly (sp?)
16. oi, i cant believe im actully banded. i am super sore right now and im having gas coming out both ends! lol
